Forums - General Discussion - I think I'm being haunted.

No but if you're seeing things that aren't real, you should really go see a psychiatrist. They can diagnose you and give you appropriate medication to make the hallucinations go away.

Jason....Do you believe in God?....Because I have always concluded in my own thoughts, that if ghosts do really exist - then God must exist.
In my rationale, a ghost is proof of a soul. Evolution could not create a soul, only a Supreme Being could. So, do you believe this ghost is real?

A body in itself could not have been erected without energy and it is bound to it till the end so it needs to coexist, so no i cannot say that evolution creates a soul but you also cannot know that it does not.

Ahh, science, as we know it, cannot account for the existence of a human soul.  Please, indulge me if you can show otherwise...If you can't...We'll then...

In my conclusion...there is no God....and therefore there are no souls....and there are no ghosts....Period.

There’s no such thing as ghost.

But I do believe life in alternate dimensions/universe.

Maybe they are reaching out to you.

I don't know if I can help you, but I got to get this out of my chest:

First of all, I have no religion since I was 9. I was (and still am) always skeptical about everything "unnatural", but something happened to me last year and I couldn't ignore it. As I was casually drinking my juice and preparing to return to my bedroom, I turn around and see a shadow, but it was in "3D". This wasn't an illusion nor a flash/imagination, cause I stared at it paralyzed for 15 or 20 seconds, and then it just disappeared. Btw, the nights before I was hearing heavy footsteps and weird noises I never heard before. Now, you could say it was someone, but at the time I lived only with my grandma and her sister, two sweet old ladies (86 and 89) that never, I mean, NEVER, went out of their bedrooms at night before. I asked them about it the following day, but they said they never went out of bed during those nights. But anyway, I decided to ignore it and thought maybe they were sleepwalking or something, maybe it was the building structure (even tho it doesn't have wood in it, and I never heard such things before). Anyway, after those nights, I saw the "thing" I mentioned, so I couldn't just ignore it. The following nights, I would hear knocks on my door, even tho no one was standing on the other side, and even saw it moving a bit (it's always locked, so it didn't open).

Fast forward to 2018, nothing extraordinary happened in between, so I had almost forgot about the event that happened. But then, it happened again, on the same kind of manner, I was going to grab some snacks, but when I look to my right, I see an old, serious, lady. She wore a black dress and had grey hair. It was clear as day, I swear guys, it freaked me out even more than the first time it happened, because it had a form and was absolutely clear. I obviously ran to my bedroom and locked the door. Btw, this happened a month ago, and even tho I try not to think about it, when I'm home alone I get a bit worried about it.

Now, some insight:

- I only take one medication, which is to treat an allergy, and doesn't induce any effects.
- The only pets I have are fish
- I very rarely drink alcohol, and certainly not at home either
- I'm an atheist and skeptic about almost everything
- Stuff like this never happened to me before

So I pose the question: what the hell are people like me and Jason supposed to do? xD

If you are going to talk in science you need to talk about possibilities when there are no clear factual answers.

But yeah i also do not believe in them.

You're telling me people are only allowed to believe in either science or God? That everyone's beliefs must be either exclusively scientific or catholic? Come on, dude. Science is about working with things that are proven to exist, that doesn't mean everything that isn't scientifically proven doesn't exist. It also doesn't mean people can't accept science as fact while also having beliefs of their own.

M, I'm only telling everyone here what I believe.  Do I have all the answers, hell no ! However, I do believe in science, but I was raised a Catholic.  Imagine that?

But the question remains....Does God exist?  In my opinion, if you can prove to me that ghosts exist, then I surmise that God must exist, because, MOST LIKELY, that

entity created that ghost/soul and not Big Bang evolution.

I do not believe in the supernatural. Nonetheless what you describe is genuinely creepy and if it is disturbing you it is important to get to the bottom of it. Something you could try is putting up surveillance equipment around your house and checking on it whenever you feel something it off, a lot this may make you feel better when you realize nothing is there.

From a psychological stand point, there are certain questions I would ask as well (you of course do not have mention the answers to these questions here as they are personal, but it is more for your own knowledge).

1. Are you well rested? Are you under stress? Do these episodes tend to occur when you are under stress?
2. Where you under the influence of drugs (recreational or medical) when you had these experiences? Even certain medical prescriptions that you may not suspect sometimes have adverse side effects that include hallucinations especially when combined with other drugs or alcohol.
3. Have you ever been in a state of psychosis?
4.Have you had family members with schizophrenia or episodes of psychosis?
5. Have you had seizures or do you suffer from epilepsy?
6. Have you ever tried to have lucid dreams?
7. Do you suffer from sleep paralysis?

Also, certain people (including myself) are simply uncomfortable being alone. This may result in us overanalyzing our environment, taking note of every shadow, every noise, every object that we otherwise would not pay that much attention to. In my experience this can be particularly bad at night when you are just waking up or falling asleep alone. Once I had the window in my room open during the night and I was already nervous because I was alone, I was not fully asleep but rather in a semi-dreaming state (essentially hypnagogia) and I dreamt (but it felt like I saw, because I was not fully asleep) that a figure resembling slender man was putting his foot through my window.

These are some interesting articles regarding what you may be experiencing:

Why couldn't the big bang(it also was not a bang but more like a massive expansion) create it,and if ghosts can be proven to exist why must that be automatically linked to an humanlike god or mighty entity? Not that it matters because we most likely will never know. :)

Also the big bang was the first thing happening to our universe in terms of growth but it does not have to be the first thing in existence, only for this bubble.
