Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony is losing playstation console exclusives left and right this 2018.

Seems like for all these supposed lost exclusives PS4 kept doing pretty well and Xbox didn't really gain any wind.

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Besides, OP ignores that most of these were known to be timed exclusives and also ignores that this is the case for all consoles.

For instance, Switch has "lost" Super Bomberman R, Daemon X Machina, and Hollow Knight while XB1 has "lost" PUBG, Dead Rising 4, and PvZ Garden Warfare.

It's been an interesting read. I'm glad this thread was bumped back to life.

God bless You.

My Total Sales prediction for PS4 by the end of 2021: 110m+

When PS4 will hit 100m consoles sold: Before Christmas 2019

I am still trying to figure out the point of necrobumping this thread. A PS fan was more worried about PS than he needed to be and the thread was probably already settled by the time it had died off.

To show OP why it was a silly thread. I thought that much was clear.

PS4 still has by far the most third party exclusives and console exclusives. If you are a fan of Japanese games, then it really isn't close.

PS4

SFV
Yakuza 7
Judgement
Persona 5, Dancing, Royal
Catherine FB
13 Sentinels
Dragons Crown
King of Fighters
Sakura Wars
Kiseki
Ys
Danganronpa
EDF
Guilty Gear
Nioh
Nights of Azure
Idolmaster
Shenmue 3
KH 2.8
FF Disisidia
Left Alive
Babylon Fall
GranBlue Versus, Relink

SW

Bravely Default
Octopath
NHM3 (could be timed)
Rune Factory
DxM

Timed exclusivity. Porting games to other consoles is a cash cow for developers to milk more profits.

Yea that's another reason I mainly stick to PS4. I'm a huge fan of Japanese games. Trails of cold steel is another series exclusive to them. They are getting Yakuza finally though so that's good for them.

Well after a year or so the general snowball effect kicks in and it’s hard to break. I always felt exclusives are just the icing on the cake and the real draw is friends playing major 3rd party releases with each other. This gen PS was the “cool” console and Xbox well...their reveal and launch didn’t help lol.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.
