Oh, wow. That's an EA level move, do you remember Mass Efect 3 on the WiiU? And the ME Trilogy on the rest of platforms?
Despite all that, I dont think that game on Switch will flop, we again talking about only handheld Dark Souls game and first Dark Souls game on Nintendo platform.
Releasing the trilogy so shortly after the remastered edition is dick move to all console owners. Just wow.

I don't really get the issue tbh, Dark Souls Remastered launched for $40?, the Trilogy is $80. By now you can pick up 2+3 for $40 no problem, so it's not like you're missing out from a financial standpoint.
If you haven't got remastered yet, and willing to wait for the other games to go on sale on PSN for the fifteenth time you can get them for the following prices:
Dark Souls Remastered: $29.99 (Amazon)
Dark Souls 3 Deluxe: $21.24 (PSN Sale)
Dark Souls 2: $9.99 (PSN Sale)
Total: (Physical +Digital) : $61.22 (Save: $18.78)
So the trilogy really isn't that good of a deal.
The only people I can imagine being upset are people wanting the trilogy in one box for collection reasons.
I wouldn't buy it until you see footage of blight town. They fixed it on PS4/X1 but I'm highly doubting it will be fixed on the switch.
People will buy it anyway especially if they don't own the other two consoles or pay attention to what releases on every console. Skyrim sold well enough even though it's been ported to everything in 3 gens. Also, the trilogy could of had issues being ported to the NS.
To me, the more generic problem here is how big industry are constantly re-releasing everything all the time. like how many versions of Skyrim or GTA 5 can we launch? hope you enjoyed our new mastepiece, 4 months ago, next month the special edition comes out! I am now waiting a year or two to buy most games because there will usally bea better value and always at a lower price.

I think the reason the trilogy is releasing now instead of next year is:
1. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice launches Q1 next year. Bandai isn't dumb enough to launch their game while FromSoftware releases a new IP.
2. It's the ten year anniversary of Demon's Souls, and considering the closure of the original game's servers this year I think we can assume Demon's Souls Remastered might release sometime between March and May. So not one, but potentially two FromSoftware Soulslike titles.
That said, I feel like a trilogy bundle should have waited for a Switch port of Dark Souls 2: SotFS and a downscaled Dark Souls 3 Switch port.
Regardless, my copy is fully paid off at GameStop. It'll be a nice way to pass time when I'm on the road.

From Software didn't say that, that article is "According to a source", and at this point can be quite confidently called BS.
