They could have easily included women without annoying anyone.

It's the fact that they focused so heavily on it that annoyed people. In a war where 99.9% of the war deaths were male, putting a female on the cover for your game, is just a deliberate political statement. That was a deliberate choice by them, but it's not necessary at all.

For comparison, see Assassin's Creed Odyssey, which has included a female option for the first time and has received almost no pushback for it. Because they did it well and didn't try and make a kind of social statement with it.

A few weeks ago Dice said something along the lines of " If you don't like our depiction on WW2 then don't buy our game". This statement is definitely hurting sales.

I predict next year's Battlefield will be free-to-play and try to copy Fortnite.

Black Ops 4 was already low to begin with lol. Shame because the gameplay of BFV actually looks fun. Oh well. That's what you get for injecting nonsensical politics into your game.

Of course, it's CoD. And the controversy didn't help it any. There were people with large followings claiming that BFV would outsell CoD but no, they don't realize how resilient this series really is.

When companies like EA think consumers are complete idiots they should expect this. If you said anything negative about the BFV reveal you were immediately labelled a sexist, woman hating, virgin fat white male living in his mom's basement who is over 30.

Some moron at EA probably believes that if women had equal opportunities to join the military during the WW period, the number of women compared to men fighting in the front lines would have been 50:50. So why don't we make our belief a reality in BFV. 

Well, like they said, if you don't like our representation of WW2 don't buy our game.

That's what they get for shoving sjw politics down our throats.

Actually Black Ops 4 pre orders are strong. They are higher than WW2 and WW2 ended up being the biggest CoD debut since Ghosts. But still Battlefield 5s pre orders are terrible.
