They honestly should be 3-0. Despite terrible QB play, Vikings level kicking, and stale offensive play calling, they were in position to win against both the Steelers and the Saints. The D is legit, and they have some pretty nice players at key skill positions.

In a division that looks pretty wide open atm, the Browns could potentially make the playoffs if Baker plays at a respectable level.

One really has to question though why Hue Jackson still hasn't been fired as head coach of this team. Seeing this guy talking about how many 'wow' moments he's seen from Baker in practice, and all this shit…..ok....so why haven't you even so much as given him a single first team rep? The fact that he could come in and play as well as he did, down 14-0, never having been given a chance to develop any rhythm with the starters….how does it take an injury to Tyrod for you to give this man - the 1st overall pick at that - an opportunity to prove himself? That's just ridiculous to me.

They should be 3-0, but the psychological factor of sports shouldn't be ignored. A team that loses all the time eventually starts to believe that they don't deserve to win anything which then leads to the mental breakdowns that lead to losses in very winnable games. Over the past few years we could witness this with the Jaguars; while their roster continuously improved, it wasn't until 2017 that they could finally live up to their potential. What the Browns need more than anything else is the belief that 4th place in the AFC North isn't their rightful place and then they will be able to play accordingly.

Hue Jackson hasn't been fired despite his atrocious career record as a head coach, because the Browns management made the deliberate decision to stick with the same head coach for a longer period regardless of the record. Previously, they brought in new coaches pretty much every year and the franchise remained a dumpster fire, so that approach was obviously not working.

As for Jackson's talk about how good Mayfield is, that doesn't really mean much. A head coach is going to be positive about his QBs, just consider that Mike McCarthy said that he is happy with what he has been seeing from Hundley despite erratic play after the first few games. Regarding letting a first round QB draft pick play, NFL teams greatly prefer to have them learn on the bench, so anytime there's a solid veteran QB as an option, that's the choice that will be made. Rookie QBs really only play when a franchise has a serious QB problem. It's highly conservative decision-making, but after these first three games the Browns team and the Browns fanbase will want Mayfield as starting QB. But most importantly, let's not forget that it is tradition in Cleveland to make all the wrong decisions when it comes to the QB position, so Jackson merely picked up where all his predecessors left off.

Such an easy week.

I'll go with a Dallas pick as my personal upset of the week. The Bengals are due to lose and the Saints defense will be nowhere to be found.

The catch? Everytime so many home teams are picked to win, something is bound to go wrong.

...so...you took the time to post your picks against the spread, but not the time to post picks for the prediction league?
