So yeah, the Switch is starting to show strength in sales, even with less interesting software than the year before, all the while the PS4 has to with certain releases to keep up.

Switch is killing it.

What? Lol not like the ps4 didnt nesrly double what the switch did this last quarter.....

How come Labo is a flop if it has sold more than 1.4 million already?I feel like either Aqua had a bigger expectation for the game, or he has been feed wrong information.Because I can see these numbers being dissapointing, depending on Nintendo expectations, but not a flop.

I'm guessing its a flop in that store shelves most likely still have the original shipment on their shelves.  So it seems like an overreach on Nintendo's and retailers expectations.

EDIT:

So after EThomaz post she mentioned that sales of the Pro did collapse month to month (June to July) and that there is a shortage nationwide (which is pretty much what we have been seeing and talking about here), again take it with a couple grains of salt but all the signs (amazon, Bestbuy, Gamestop, target, Walmart all saying very little to no Pro's online or at their stores) and this means that something is up and is effecting monthly totals.  Oddly enough it seems to be just a US problem.

Sony needs to get it together. First Japan and now the US. Is this some marketing tactic? Or parts issues like the Switch had last year?

Pocky Lover Boy!

About time Switch started performing again. Hope this holiday makes up for the weak first half.

If you would think for a second, and not have a defensive reaction, you would understand that A: the PS4 is on its way out and B: there will be a point where the switch will pass and stay above consistently while the gap will widen each month. That will happen. If not now, then in the very near future.

Q1 & June were good (270, 280, 310 & 325). It was just April/May that were lackluster (165 & 170).

The Xbox one and 3DS are on their way out as well, why single out the PS4?  Do a better job of articulating your praise of the Switch and your disdain of Sony in general.  Your post's resemble Goodnightmoon almost one for one.

Impressive. Great sales for "Octopath Taveler" . This game is so beautiful :) Especially impressive are the great characters, the story and emotions, soundtracks, details and atmosphere :)

Also gratulation@best Games-Console. Maybe more than 30 million units, end of december ??! Its possible. In August "Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate", in october "Super Mario Party",  and many other big games in november and december, with "Super Smash Bros Ultimate" - Game of the Year 2018, thats sure! Fantastic time, good for us :)

This truly made me laugh

Switch is killing it and doesn't need casualware to do it (sounds like Labo dropped hard). Octopath no.1 ... yeah, maybe that'll open some eye balls.

1. Octopath

2. Mario Kart 8

3. Zelda: BoTW

As the 1,2,3 top selling games says a lot.

I'm pretty sure he's talking about July given the thread this is....not Q1.

Eh, read OTBWY's comment again.

He/she said that PS4 has to get certain releases to keep up with Switch. Dave then points out that PS4 didn't just keep up with Switch when it got those certain releases, it nearly doubled Switch. In July though, PS4 didn't get any notable releases. Switch got Octopath Traveller, July's best selling game.

Switch and Octopath Traveller did great. Why not just be happy about that? Why the constant gloating?

Don't waste your time Train.

PS4 drop shows how important the Pro model (shortages) are to the PS4.

The Pro and X models are what are keeping the PS4 and XBox sales high.

Nintendo would be well advised to have a Switch Pro ready for 2020 so that they can get a similar hardware boost and prevent against the usual year 4/5/6 drop off.

Hardware refreshes are here to stay.
