It is such a great product- and to me was a game changer for video game experiences. I got mine when they first came out- traded in my DVD collection that had been collecting dust- so luckily I didn't have to come up with the money. First couple of games I played were Batman: Arkham VR and Until Dawn: Rush of Blood. I couldn't believe how immersive it was. Then when RE7 came out that January - first AAA game completely playable with PSVR - such an awesome, horrifyingly good time!

My top 5 games / experiences would be:
1 - RE7
2 - GT Sport
3 - Star Wars: X-Wing Mission
4 - Farpoint
5 - Rez Infinite

I'm with you on that. I've been gaming for 36 years and it had gotten stale in a way. Always the same types of games. PSVR reignited my love for gaming so to speak, made me excited for the future again.

I'd never say I'll never play a traditional 2D game but it's just a great and exciting addition and very unlikely to go away. The second and especially third gen will be when the real progress will be made and I can't wait to experience it.

Yeah- it was a pretty big collection - had over 600 DVD's and box sets

You transitioning to Blu-Ray or just gave up on collecting?

Yeah it is a bit sad how reality sounds ridiculous to you, isn't it?

How is that reality when you say the technology isn't there yet, yet games like Moss, Wipeout, Ultrawings or RE7 and The Persistence clearly show it IS?!

Right? Yet some of the die hards have started to refer to conventional home console gaming using as television as "retro style".

Give it another decade and maybe then they can get rid if the cords, get the refresh rate, resolution, and viewing angles up, and get the price down to around the price of a standard controller, and maybe then it'll see quasi-mainstream success.

I dont even want it to have mainstream success. I don't get why some people think something is just succesful when it sells hundreds of millions of units?
I'm truly enjoying the passionate community and helpful Reddit over lots and lots of immature idiots atm.

The first iPhone sold 6,124,000 units...Just saying.

Well it depends on what you mean by "there yet" for you, that means "well enough that it's tolerable for VR enthusiasts", but for me it means "ready for mass-market adoption". It's not close to that.

The fact that you try to equate current VR solutions with the fucking iPhone says everything you need to say about your mindset when it comes to VR.

Just gave up on collecting physical movies.  Starting buying everything digitally on Amazon

So much for people that claimed it bombed and sold only 1 million... so we are 3x over what you thought...

Also 7 games per PSVR is incredible attach ratio for a peripheral. Also can't say it's buffed by non-PSVR exclusives when on the top 10 only RE7 shows up (which is still full PSVR) and isn't even first place even though it's incredible.

Really looking forward to Dreams when it comes out (whenever the hell it comes out LOL). The ability to create and play your own video games, let alone in VR, as well as play other people's games from around the world- endless possibilities!

Im the same way, i dont re-watch them enough to justify owning most movies so i usually just watch Netflix/Hulu or rent them.

Who said it sold only 1 million? The reported 1 million last June and 2 million in December.

Ya the hardware sales might not be that impressive but thats a really solid tie ratio.
