Looks like Switch just won't drop from 50k even with no new releases. Few more weeks and it will be at 5 million and looks like it will stay up year over year despite last year's Splatoon 2 bump now that the worst is over.

Here is the week 31 update in terms of the two big consoles in Japan's path to be able to reach the commonly stated (in these sales threads) estimates for 2018 sales (2 mil for PS4, 4 mil for Switch) .

PS4 22,026 -21,628 1,105,275 44,736 (+1082)
Switch 50,143 -70,593 1,514,673 124,266 (+3530)

TWS - This week's sales
GD - Goal differential, the difference between the average week needed from last week compared to this week's sales
YTD - Units sold in 2018 so far including this week's sales
AWN - Average weekly sales needed to reach the estimate for the console.

Not much change as PS4 stays around ~20k and Switch around ~50k. The AWN is starting to accelerate more rapidly as fewer weeks remain. Next week's numbers will be Obon. Switch should do really well that week.

Zelda BotW imo has the best legs in years. Most impressive, followed by Minecraft on Vita (this game was the sole reason vita kept alive in 2016) and then splatoon 1 on wiiu. Just crazy

Is Obon known for big hardware boosts? I was thinking it was smaller than Golden Week.

I'm not too sure. I'm just going by what the MC thread on resetera has been saying for awhile. Since it's like a full week of holidays and Japan loves to shop on holidays there should be a a pretty big increase.
