Forums - Gaming Discussion - Would there be a market for Western Franchise Warriors games?

I'm curious; Warriors games tend to have crossover eastern franchises like Gundam, One Piece, and Zelda. Could we see Western franchise Warriors titles, and if so could they have potential to be successful?

For example, using Disney as an example and the fact that Warriors games don't seem to need to sell tons to be successful....would Star Wars Warriors, Marvel Warriors, and Rick Riordan Warriors be potential successes.

(Yes I am aware that 'Rick Riordan Warriors' isn't exactly super name power, but as E.A has Star Wars for the near future and Marvel's exact status is up in the air i needed a franchise, and with the Fox buyout a lot of the rights to Percy Jackson that had been tied up should be fully back in Disney, as they publish the series and related books.)

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

Star Wars warriors would be pretty cool. I would love to cut down hundreds of droids/stormtroopers with a lightsaber.

Yes, there is a market for that. And i agree Star Wars would be perfect

Do you think K.T would have interest in seeking such a thing out? I mean with Hyrule Warriors I think they've found that they can succeed in the west more with a more western franchise.

musou-styled games... not exactly a genre I care for.
Maybe theres a market for them? Id rather see western game developers make other types of games though.

Would thy sell? I'm pretty sure with the right IP they would sell. As others said, Star Wars would work perfectly.

Can it happen? Well it seems that japanese and western companies seldom cooperate. That more than anyhing makes it unlikely.

I think a Warriors game themed around the Jedi-Sith War would work best.  Armies of Jedi vs armies of Sith both armed with lightsabers and Force powers.  Anything else we've already pretty much seen in the Star Wars Battlefront games.

Star Wars, Witcher, Dragon Age, and even Marvel/DC Universe would be prime candidates.

A Star Wars Warriors game could work, but mostly due to the Star Wars license. The Dinasty Warriors depends too much on the IP that it's crossoving with to sell in the West to be a sure hit.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

There could be, but it'd be awfully stale with how little that genre has grown over the past 10 years alone.
