Switch isnt powerfull enough to run it.... sad but likely true.

As a programmer I say it is possible - with cutbacks like Wolfenstein or Doom. It is more a question of: how much cutbacks and how much work to port. I think sales should justify that in the case of MonHun.

60fps games, get massive resolution degrade, texture degrade, effects ect... and its playable at HALF the FPS on the Switch.

Im not sure MHW would turn out great.

Would you play a MHW that runs half the resolution of the PS4, and 15 fps capped? with certain effects dialed back? and lesser textures ect.
if so then yes, the Switch *could* run such a MHW.

Effects, draw distance, resolution, polycount - there are a lot of ways to tune performance. Capcom don't WANT to change the look too much.

How much power have the low end computers running MHW?

GTX 760 is the minimum GPU listed on steam, which is a 1.8TF-2.2TF card.
It also needs 8gb of ram + 2gb vram card.

Basically listed Minimum requirements are WAY above the Switch, and marginally above the PS4/XBO on ram/gpu and substantially above ps4/xbo on cpu.

Getting the game to run on the Switch Docked, but especially in Handheld, would be an absolute nightmare.

I see Tegra X1 given with 1TF, which is not way below 1.8TF.

That is the FP16 figure (half precision) thus double the number. It's single precision (FP32) is 0.5TF.

But the Switch is also downclocked a little it runs at 0.4TF docked and 0.2TF undocked, or 384Gflops & 192 Gflops to be more precise.

Tegra X1 is 1TF in FP16...... but  the numbers Barkley List is for FP32.
Tegra X1 is 512 Gflop in that case.

The "Switch" is only 393 Gflops though (FP32) (it runs slower than a Tegra X1).

If the Minimum PC listed Card is 1.8 Tflops, and the Switch is 0.393 Tflops.... you can see its below the minimum recammended PC parts.

"which is not way below 1.8TF"

Cut the crap.....  393 Gflops is only ~22% of the total of 1.8TF.
Not even 1/4th of it.... yes that is "way" below it.

That’s a great number. Give the person who saw the light and brought MH back to Playstation a raise.

Actually if that were the case, the game wouldve only sold around 4M. Thank the heavens for Xbox and PC for the added 6m sales.

8.3m were sold before the pc version, are you saying the xb1 version sold more than the ps4 version?  you know that in japan alone the ps4 version has an advantage of 2m+ right?  not to mention the ratio WW was way in favor of the ps4 version.  I wouldn't be surprised the sales of the xb1 version is no more than 1.5m.

VGC Figures (Physical only): PS4 4.2m (85.5%), XBO 0.71m (14.5%)

Capcom Shipped+Digital Figures: PS4+XBO (8.3m)

So keeping the proportions from VGC, including Digital and Shipped copies we'd get: PS4: 7.09m, XBO: 1.2m

So no, with just the PS4 version it's almost the best selling Capcom game of all time.

As it stands we're looking at 7.1m shipped for PS4 and 3.2m shipped for PC+XBO.

Thank the heavens for the PS4.

Multiplat is where it's at Capcom. Great job!

I recently picked this up. Gonna be a month or so before I get started in it though, just began Persona 5 this weekend.
