With new characters, stages, and story mode potententily coming back, I’d say it’s not. For now, I’m kindof putting it in that gray area between remaster and sequel, assuming that even exists lol

People say that about Sports games all the time, it's only fair SSBU receive the same treatment.

Most content comes from previous games. New is maybe 20%. Rest is remake/remaster.

Hm, but every Smash so far as seen huge graphical improvement, the Switch-version doesn't really look that different from WiiU

Every smash has had a different art style. Brawl and wiiu were polar opposites in terms of art style. Ultimate is similar to Wiiu's artstyle. But is graphically quite different when you actually compare the 2. Also the switch isnt a huge jump in power like most other consoles.
