I made a review of Ant Man and the Wasp a few weeks back, thought I'd post it here. Your thoughts on the review? Also, what do you think of the film? I thought it was average and gave it a 5.9.

Here is my verdict on the film. Full review in the link.

All that said, the action isn’t enticing enough to carry a film by itself and the comedy fails to do more than make you smile more than once. Ant Man and the Wasp is a low stakes film with adorable characters that aren’t fully fleshed out. Ghost has the motive to steal Hank’s lab to become normal. She is so obsessed over it that she isn’t willing to wait for Hank to bring Janet out of the quantum realm even as Janet is a better scientist than Hank. It doesn’t occur to her that she could help better than anybody else, and instead she kicks everyone’s asses. She is powerful but her motives aren’t compelling for an antagonist. She like Lang feels really immature and these 2 just happen to be the driving force of the story. The story itself is straightforward, but everything surrounding it doesn’t make a good film. It can be a fun 1 time watch but that’s the most it will ever be, and its relevance to the MCU is shown in the post credits which is the best scene in the film.

Score: 5.9/10 (Average)

I didn't like it at all either. Any decent action scenes were given away in the trailers. I feel it was the same for the best comedy lines as well, and for the most part I didn't find it to be that funny.

But the biggest crime was really just the whole story/movie. The whole movie was basically just 4 different groups of people chasing one another trying to steal a briefcase. It had no neat heist aspect the first movie had. It was just the FBI, the Mob, Ghost and the good guys running around non stop with a briefcase.

Then this movie did a horrible job with Ant-Man. Seriously, they made him so pathetic and a joke character that I was sitting there thinking that really ANYONE else could make a better Ant Man than him. Hank Pim's line about how they didn't choose him, but he broke into their house and stole the suit sums it up perfectly. The first movie made you believe that he was the best man for the suit, this one made him look like he was inept. It didn't help they had him running around in a prototype suit for some extra laughs. I don't know if it was due to them wanting to make the Wasp look amazing, but they overcorrected on Ant Man. You can make the Wasp look deadly without resorting to making Ant Man look like a joke. (that was my fear with the Wonder Woman movie. Too often Hollywood makes others look like idiots to make the "minority/woman" look amazing. Or cheesy one lines, like when No mans land part came on. When they stated, It's no mans land, means no man can cross. I would have put down $1,000.00 easy at that moment if the movie paused that Wonder Woman was going to say "But I'm not a man" SO thankful they didn't. Black Panther also did a good job of ebing just a good movie and not trying to prove it was the first black superhero movie (It isn't. Hated that marketing) But Ant Man 2 and Ghostbuster 2016 were culprits of the make others pathetic to make the females awesome.)

I will never watch this again. I would rate it probably a 5/10 or somewhere around there as well.

Your conclusion about Ghost is really bad in my opinion. She is a person that has lived her entire life in pain and being used by people to do evil things.By the time the movie starts, she is days aways from dieng. Its beyond obvious that she is desperate, and someone desperate and on the brink of death do irrational things.

As for the other stuff, I still dont agree, but thats personal.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

They certainly did. Lang felt like he has the personality of a comedy sidekick rather than a superhero.

lost interest in the cinematic universe movies since JL flop and skipped it for rental. Mission Impossible Fallout was absolutely entertaining  on IMAX.

Unique movies are getting rare when so much money is earned from these.

Yes I like superhero films but between this and DC its getting too much.

That's not the problem here though, as this is among the worse superhero films I've seen.

I saw this with my wife and daughter and we all liked it. It was a fun and funny movie. The action was good, but they mostly spoiled it in the trailers (not the director's fault, but still true).

My main complaint was that it seemed like they dumbed down Scott Lang somewhat. He is supposed to be a electrical engineer that is good enough to overcome high tech security systems. He isn't a science dummy. In spite of that I still liked the film.

6/10

I liked the movie a lot, but it sorta just came and went. Would have expected a bigger impact considering it came on the heel of Infinity War
