So I checked the other countries as well for Smash's current position:
Canada #1
UK #4
France #3240 (not available currently)
Germany #11
Italy #30
Spain #7
Japan #1

The Italians did not like the deaths of Mario and Luigi.

mazon yearly charts update (5 days since last update):

SSBU: 14 (+4)
Octopath Traveler: 34 (-)
Super Mario Party: 49 (+4)
Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu: 73 (+5)

Still no Fallout 76 or Kingdom Hearts, Spider-Man or other Pokémon let's Go version charting.

I'll continue tracking Octopath until some new releases come to replace it

Smash is already this high up and gained another 4 places? Wow. Wonder whether it can mirror SMOs dominant position last year.
Also SMP has not recieved much of marketing but is doing well.
From early trends it seems that Pokemon will underperform. But that could still change in the upcoming weeks.

Well don't forget there are (at least, who knows what Amazon will do with them later on) 4 SKU of Pokémon let's Go, stealing each other's sales for charts positions. Same reason why Fallout 76 hasn't shown up yet: Too many SKU. I'm pretty sure if all the Pokémon let's go SKU would get added up, they would be at least around Octapath's spot.

Super Mario Party is doing very well, chugging along at it's own pace. But now the space between spots is getting larger, so the rise will get much slower.

Once we'll get to fall season I'm sure Smash and Pokémon will start to rocket up the charts. It's not impossible for Smash to end the year on the number 1 spot.

Yay! Keep going Smash!!!

Pocky Lover Boy!

I mean, it's a cash grab dancing game. It's not exactly going to put up the millions of sales that P5 did, lol.

EDIT: Looking at Amazon Japan, 3 different SKUs of Resident Evil 2 Remake are in the top 5. Also it looks like Amazon JP already sold out pre-orders of its allotment for the special 500 million Playstation sold commemorative PS4.

Switch being stable without big releases is great. Maybe it can win August, we will get a good idea with numbers from July.

Also i think y'all are putting too much into the charts for pokemon. Its on a brand new hit console and is the first pokemon in HD. Even US/UM are close to what 7 millions while being only a add on, having backlash and being on a dying console.

The casual market that is the main target for lets go isnt preordering games and probably dont even know its coming yet.

U.S. isn't getting the limited edition Smash bundle thingy?

KH 2.8 is at 99. Plus, it was even higher than that earlier. WOO!!!!!!

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is on the rise. Also the Pokemon Let's Go games are picking up a little bit too.
