NES Classic at #1 in units.

Wow, probably one of Nintendo's best product ideas.

Wow, so PS4 is number 1 only in revenue, but not in numbers sold? I saw it doing well, but never expected that well.

I think it's pretty much a given PS4 will take July, August, and September, cleanly. Starting from October things get a little iffy with Super Mario Party and Forza Horizon 4 launching in those months. Then in November there is Pokemon for Switch, but Xbox/PS4 will have crazy BF deals, so that remains to be seen....

PS4 will take July and August? With what?

from the looks of it, PS4 won June mostly because of the Days of Play PS4 console and some momentum carryover from previous month. Both Switch and XBO sales came pretty close since with the Info we have they have to be around 300k each and thus not far behind Sony's console. The PS4 however will not be able to keep that momentum due to a severe drought in the release calendar for this summer, there's nothing really until Spiderman hits the shelves in September. It's actually not impossible for the PS4 to be overtaken by both the Switch and the XBO in those two months. September should go to the PS4, though.

If someone told me a few years ago that the NES would be the best selling console in June 2018 I would have laughed at them.

But isnt that drought for all three consoles? So it effectively cancels out.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

NES Classic was the #1 best selling system in June 2018

was not expecting that lol

Nintendo has hit a gold mine with this mini console shit, like god damn

i'll probably pick one up some day

Pretty sure that goes for most people. Crazy how much demand there is for that little thing.

A lesser degree for XBO (No Man's Sky, for instance) and no drought for Switch (Octopath traveler, Captain Toad) in July. August is more of a toss-up, all 3 look pretty dry here. Switch at least has Overcooked 2 and the ports of Okami and The Blob 2 to add some padding, which gives it the highest probability of a win for that month, too.

I might expand on this later, but here's who I think will take each month for the rest of the year.

July: Switch

August: Switch

September: PS4

October: PS4

November: PS4

December: Switch

I still can't believe switch/xbox did so well, i'm starting to think the market is starting to grow again in a big way.

Yep, consoles are not dead or dying, and one might have been left out.

...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.

November usually goes to the one who have best deals and most stock during Black Friday. Sony with its new focus on profitability is less aggressive in Holiday season. So i doubt Sony will win November. October is also questionable but if Sony has a COD bundle it might take it.

Switch will win july, we got an sales insider at the resetera forum saying this and a ndp predictor tool here on vgchartz giving the same prophecy. Hopefully ps4 will win but it's unlikely.
