Hello guys,

Finally back from platinum on God of War and what a trip.

I started the game on Give me God of War even though I knew it wasn't like any other GoW before it. Much more souls-like than Hack and Slash for over 50% of the game (after a key moment that I won't spoil, the game can be played as H&S and was how I done it).

But silly me seeing how the currency was hard to get, didn't put any money on the upgrades. So I was halfway done, fighting level 6 wolves that could kill me with one hit because I was still level 1.

I finally took out the scorpion from my pocket and surrendered to my own inability, so in a matter of couple hours I was at least level 4 and the game became so much easier that it almost bored me (yes I got a lot used to coward playing with my axe from very far and had destroyed some bosses like Ogres, Dark Elf and the like just throwing the axe).

Then about level 6 I was fighting the end boss (won't spoil the name) and owwww boy, the challenge came hitting back and I took live over 8h to kill him (not that much more than the 4h of the Dark Elf or Ice Ogre with a team mind you).

After this much preparation and planning my late game grinding I got myself to level 8 to challenge the special boss and usual GoW challenge mode.

This was another hard battle.

My question to my fellow chartians. In what difficult have you played the game? Are you looking up to the New Game+ with added difficult? How much tear and swear did you put to plat or at least finish this game on Give me God of War?

I would estimate something between 50-100h for me.

Also did anyone get dissapointed that our God Slayer got "nerfed" down in power (or are the Norse gods much stronger than Greek?)

On the Give me God of War you could die anywhere from 1 to 3 hits from even weak enemies and needed 12+ hits to kill even the weaker mob enemy.

Beat it on challenge, not hard at all, but...
"That Queen"... yup, that queen sure is hard.

I also think kratos got weaker...  I mean, he got a hard time whit Baldur, one of the weakest Norse gods, after beating  the great 3 (Poseidon,Hades, zeus). Perhaps his power comes from his anger, he got lot's of problema whit greek gods and reasons to hate than, and not so much for Norse gods

I started my playthrough on Give Me God of War, but several hours later I realized that I made a huge mistake. I was forced to replay the first few hours on Hard mode.

I started on Hard and yes it was a real pain in the but on a few missions where I died multiple times and was like Damn this game is tough. 2 hit kills and stuff like that. Once I upgrade boy, things became much more mangable. Actually I pimp the boy out first which helped out in a lot of the rights until you face the bosses but by then I had a few combat tricks to get pass them. Definitley looking forward to new DLC and probably will be the only game I purchase DLC for in a long time.

I'll say you are a lot better player than me then =] it was quite more challenging than all the previous God modes of God of War prior.

And I know you haven't said it, but on the other thread someone said that combat is much more deep than other games because there is a lot of combos and whatnot that you need to clear on the higher difficulties... I basically cleared it with roll, parry and axe throw+arrows so not a lot of different skills and combos used (even more because most enemies will kill you while you are doing a big combo. The most I would do when getting the H&S weapon was 3 hit combos).

I don't have a problem with how hard or weak he seemed against the Norse gods, because boss battles being challenging is ok (I'm looking at you final special boss). My grieve was at how much weaker Kratos was compared to the average mob. Only at end game with level 8 I was like being able to kill a level 5 mob (level 1 wouldn't show anymore) with like 3-5 hits and taking 10 for me to die (sure could still be killed with 1-3 from level 8 mob).

Well it took me 20 min to see it was a mistake, but even if platinum could be get on easy I pushed on the Give me God of War. It was painful but rewarding.

Unfortunately you can't change the difficult and even if you start on Hard you can't go up in the same play-through.

Played on hard and then God mode. There are a few challenging areas but nothing too bad.

Having Boy makes things more manageable.

Yes I became a spammer of the axe+arrows

I beat it on normal and got the platinum. Only the extra stuff was a challenge.

Properly utilizing Atreus' bow for stuns, as well as switching to unarmed to build up stuns is really essential. Get your timing down for parries and actually take your time with encounters instead of rushing in. Use your range as an advantage. Make full use of skills and talismans.

It's not really *that* difficult.

I beat it on normal as I do most games because I'd like my first play through to be enjoyable with some challenge still. That Queen wasn't so bad on normal but put up a good fight but wasn't that difficult.
