Trump Pokes Iran

Forums - Politics Discussion - Trump Pokes Iran

More fake leadership from the West Korean government. As is tradition, Dear Leader took to Twitter to sabotage his regime's own diplomatic agenda.

Not sure if I should congratulate him for finding the caps lock or condemn him for taking time off from golfing...his own people tend to suffer for it whenever he actually decides to show up for work, after all.

I guess there's always room for both.

LOL, last week you people were all mad that he was to nice with Russia, a nuclear nation, and now you are mad that he is too strict. He probably shouldn't have written in all caps, but Iran is a threat to everyone. That is all i have to say on the matter

Last week people were mad that Trump undermined every single US intelligence, including the (Republican) House Intelligence Committee, unanimously reaching the conclusion that Russia in fact launched an attack on the US election. If there's any time to not question your intelligence, it's when they're all in agreance unanimously, and it pertains to an attack by a foreign hostile nation.

The complaints then from people who can only see things in black or white were "What, you wanted him to start a war with Russia?"
No, that's not what most people wanted him to say. We wanted him to say something like "I trust our intelligence, but these 12 individuals need to be properly investigated so we can get the full picture of what happened."
That would not incite a war or goad Putin in the slightest because Putin himself during that press conference offered to help USA with the investigation in regards to the 12 indicted GRU members. Of course, it was a terrible offer, but none the less. On the surface, there was an act of cooperation and compliance.

Speaking of that offer, Trump called it 'an incredible deal' multiple times. Handing over Americans to be interrogated by Russians in Russia was such an 'incredible deal' that a grand total of 0 members of the senate voted for it.

Anyway, the comment from Iran went like this:

"America should know that peace with Iran is the mother of all peace, and war with Iran is the mother of all wars"

There was a bit more to it, like "don't pull the lion's tail", which is a subject that's going to come up for Iran when USA recently broke their own peace agreement with Iran, even though Iran were inspected 11 times and confirmed to have upheld their end of the deal. Now there were some suspicions cast on them possibly breaking the agreements in secret, but if we're just sticking to the facts we have, USA broke the peace agreement, which can understandably be seen as a move to stirr up towards a war.  On top of that Trump appointed Bolton, who voted to go to war with Iran multiple times.

Anyway, my take on this is that Trump could very well respond to the comment in a similar fashion. But " CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED" is too much.

same people crying about we are all going to die since he was elected, north korea, russia, now the recent iran. and by the way iran has been spouting off bullshit, thier ass cant cash, Trump is calling them on it and they have been up for a beat down for a long time, just let these shitheads keep running their DS.

Iran needed to be called out. but since its trump its a hate fest. to be expected, and ignored. like the MSM.

Iran can be called out without alluding to nuclear war, or whatever " CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED" is supposed to mean.

You do realize that shouting at an unstable nation like Iran is a good way to start a war, right?

What's that supposed to mean?

Some days I just blow up.

Damn, he went all caps lock on them.

This is America's fault for not preventing this racist, homophobic orange prune, from taking the Oval Office. Now we're very likely all gonna die because of his heartless stupidity. Just when you thought he couldn't go any lower than kidnapping immigrant children and putting them in camps.

Lol, sorry sorry didn't mean to laugh there, but. Come on dude.. "We're all very likely going to die!"? I can't imagine feeling this way, it must be horrible..

Step away from the news and social media for awhile, all the sensationalism is not good for you.

Don't get me wrong, that tweet was completely stupid and way over the top, but there is virtually zero chance of nuclear war with Iran because of a mean tweet. If anything we have a better chance of having nuclear war with Russia at this point thanks to the Dems and the Neocons trying to provoke a Cold War Part 2 with Russia, but even that is highly highly unlikely.

Didn't we go through this already with North Korea? Remember that nuclear war that was supposed to happen? Instead Trump and Kim Un ended up having a diplomatic meeting and shaking hands a year later lol. We're fine, people. The media WANTS to scare you. It behooves them, it means more ratings.

I can't help but feel this sort of hysteria is like the modern day version of those hardcore Christians running around screaming about "teh doomsday!"

I don't know what's better, the reactionary sensationalism of the actual tweet, or the reactionary sensationalism responding to the tweet!

Wait...he thought that was a serious threat? A war with any modern capable country would be the war of wars. Hell forget Iran, what about Russia or China? He's a knee jerk president that's for sure. He gets hot headed, without realizing why he's doing it. In any circumstance where he knew what he was talking about we'd be screwed, but seeing that he has to be briefed about anything and everything, we'll be fine.

Iran gave a speech last night where the president of Iran said something along the lines of a war with the US would be the war of wars.

Trump didn't just randomly decide to threaten Iran. He took that speech as Iran threatening us and thus he responded as the OP showed.

So what are we supposed to do, kill all the Iranians? That'd be outright, what do you call it, genocide.

I know Iran is lead by Holocaust deniers, but that doesn't mean we should wipe out their entire population.

Bro the Iranian people rise up against their government all the time. You act like the US has never taken out a government before. I'm generally of the school of thought that countries need to handle their own independence. "Good luck Iran" I'm not team america world police. If they want to keep talking shit I would be more than happy to support giving the Iranian people a helping hand. I miss the days when somebody talked shit they were met with force. A couple open handed smacks before laying the law down. Iran was poking us when Obama was in office, they would harass our navy destroyers with their little fishing boats and we would run away. Fuck that, sink that shit. They talk tough but they don't want war.

The other thing is - even if these guys have nukes and foolishly decides to actually USE one on the US, it essentially means Iran becomes nothing but a massive crater in the ground. In other words - aint never going to happen. I don't care how crazy they are over there.

No people were mad because he threw his own country under the bus.

What part of my post prompted that question?

You mean the same support they gave in getting rid of Saddam, Ghadaffi and the Taliban that gave rise to ISIS who were among the many groups they were suppressing? Sure go ahead and mess around in Iran and have an even worse group take over when the Government is gone, ISIS may even step in and take over the country and its resources and thank you while they kill your soldiers and stage, it's why countries no longer use force when someone talks shit because it has a negative impact.
