Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox Scarlet Rumor: Traditional and streaming consoles at launch.

Bring. It. On.
What would also be cool... Is if I could stream my games from my "main" console in the lounge room onto the "Streaming" console in my bedroom.
Then I can just load up my main console with external drives rather than having a duplicate of everything.

I will always go for the dedicated console as my main box in the living room but this is something that I am interested in seeing. If it works like they are saying it will I can see my self getting one for a bedroom.

Interesting, i hope i can see a good service. I'm most likely going to stay on playstation side, unless something truly amazing happens on xbox, so this option is kinda interesting for someone that just wants to play xbox exclusives. Convert the xbox console price in exclusive games to play. ( i just hope MS can do a better job whit exclusive games, this gen was kinda weak.)

Also, i think we are going to see streaming in many divices, like pc and tablets, not just "scarlet streaming box".

If this is true, it might be the first time Microsoft gets me to buy an Xbox...

Cool, now if only they knew about real issues stopping them from doing so with a larger market like unreliable internet connection or data cap.
Otherwise, it could work but I'm just envisionning another Ouya here :P

Erm. Maybe you missed the part where the "traditional" console is retained?
Have garbage internet? Then the streaming box ain't for you, buy the console that isn't meant for streaming.

I wonder is MS would do the same or lock it to this hardware.

Locking stuff to specific hardware seems like the opposite of MS' current strategy.

They certainly don't give a shit about selling a low-price piece of hardware one time.  So, I'm sure they'd be happy to sell their streaming service to anybody with any device capable of running it.

I can see two version of Xbox and PS5

First is the cheaper one with no disc drive and less powerful one 350 USD to 400 USD

Second is more powerful (0,5 to 2 times) then the original one, and included disc and more expensive 500 USD to 550 USD

So you dont know how Xbox is but you avoid it?

would have no real interest in that with the technology we have right now, Nintendo go and create a console that you can play pretty much anywhere while MS (rumored) to be creating a console that you can only use while you are at home, wired to your router and with absolutely no hiccups in your fiber BB connection.

I mean... for this to best the X1X you're going to need native 4k streaming ability.. that's not going to happen on the majority of the worlds internet right now, unless there is something I'm missing this is a machine which is going to be bouncing around the resolutions like a copy of Wolfenstein 2 on the Switch when the action kicks off... except it's not going to be determined by action on screen but by your housemates desires to download something.
