If I'm the head of Xbox I'd like to build the consumer trust before the next console. They nailed the hardware with S and X and now I'm they need to work on the software.
2018 they acquired few studios, 2019 they release good amount of games, and 2020 they should continue doing that and have few more for the new console.

i hope the reboot plays something like:

“battletoads of war”

that would be amazing.

Its going to be a small indie game......very very few will go out of their way to buy a console for such a small game. Willing to bet people dont even know Rare isnt the one making it.......and that Dlala is the main dev. Granted no one knows who Dlala is lol

Dlala? Terrible name. Worse even than this: https://www.yelp.com/biz/young-dong-garden-arcadia-2

They went under, and that name was probably the reason. Because Dlala has a similar impairment, they need to be extra careful with what they produce.

On topic, I'm thinking the release date is fine too. Sorry Captain.

I don't even know what Battletoads is without looking it up on Google. Banjo Kazooie or Perfect Dark, sure, but I never heard of Battletoads before Spencer used it on a T shirt. And even if I'm not a very old gamer and don't know a lot of the pre-PS1 era, I'm certain that I know more than the average customer.

So no, I don't think the game will be big, and even less a system seller, especially if they want to sell it with the name alone. You can sell Crash or Spyro on nostalgia, not Battletoads IMO. So it can release anytime they want, it won't change a thing.

1st Battletoads is not a system seller. It is niche and might help here and there, but it won't sell many consoles.
2nd There are no generations for MS. Battletoads will be played on Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One X and Xbox 4.
3rd Enjoy the game.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Battletoads is a Franchise not a 1 hit wonder. Its a type of game that if its successfully they can easily make more of them especially for next gen. Plus BC will ensure the next Xbox has a good library of games to choose from.
MS have already showed the franchise importance by having 2 major Kameos in Shovel Knight and Killer Instinct plus a heavy focus in Rares Replay.
Announcement of the show at E3 for me. Very excited for it.

The basis for it not being a one hit wonder but a franchise is? Because the game have been dormant for decades, probably because they didn't see the potential to make franchise of it.

BattleToads has had many games, 4 to be exact with a bunch of ports on multiple platforms. Its not a 1 time IP that once done it cannot be done again (Cough SunSet Overdrive) type of game. Its Ninja Turtles but for the video game industry. Making a BattleToads game now does not mean they wont be able to make another in the future. It all depends on its popularity for the modern gamer. It can easily be done, much like it was in the past. The franchise has a monster amount of potential of becoming big again. And I simply cant wait. I am also not expecting this game to do wonders on the Metacritic system either nor does that matter to me. As long as its fun.

The way you put basically ANY game could be a franchise, so basically you don't have any evidence that it have a potential (hint, those previous games of decades ago weren't big sellers as well, even though they are cult hits).
