Forums - Sony Discussion - PS5 launch game lineup

What do you think should or will be the next Playstation launch lineup.

Based on several years of development time for triple A titles i suspect these titles will be launch games for the PS5 or at least coming out within a year after the release of PS5.

  • Horizon zero dawn 2
  • God of war 2
  • The Last of Us 2 (Cross gen)
  • Cyberpunk 2077
  • Elder Scrolls 6
  • Starfield
  • Next gen Gran Turismo

Too many big hitters. Unless they are all crossgen, they won't be able to make them all in time if they go full PS5. And then people will go "PS5 is too full of ports", just like with the PS4's launch.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I bet there will be a CoD and Fifa game.

That sounds good. Gta vi might not be far off a ps5 launch title the way things are going although you'd imagine they'll want to make this gen so folks can double dip.

Launch title will probably be disappointing, like it was with nearly every console Launch ever.

However, I just wait for them to announce PSVR 2. Give me that together with Fallout 4 VR and I will buy that sucker Day 1 and not even care about the price!

While your list seems plausible, sony would actually try and avoid doing that. Too many system sellers all within one year? Thats just bad business right there.

I won't be surprised to see all those games within the first two or three years of the consoles release though.

One thing for certain though is that I expect GT7 and Horizon 2 to be launch year titles. Following year we wull get GOW2. There will be a couple of other smaller titles from their studios and at least one whole new IP.

Resogun was my favorite launch PS4 game and it was free.

I think FFVII Remake is going to be a part of the launch year, it would be too early for GOW II, too early for Elder Scrolls VI. Now, it has been 5 years since GTAV, and when the next gen systems release it will probably be 7 or 8 years since GTAV. So, maybe GTAVI? One thing is for sure, Sony has options, good ones.

You want to give users a reason to buy a PS5, and that would take at least 2 big games similar to what Nintendo went for that allowed it to break US records.

Won't think about it for the moment and the games you put shall be ps4

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

I would think at least one of those would be a launch exclusive, with at least one more being a year 1 title. I imagine Sony intends to delay launching PS5 for as long as they can so that a) they can get good hardware out at a comfortable price range, and b) have time for one of their WWS to put out a genuine AAA title at launch, and not a couple tech demos like Knack and KZSF were.
