Great debut for Octopath Traveler. Shame about the shortages though, if it had been fully stocked it would have been great to see what it could truly do. Hopefully that should speak well to its legs.
As for Switch, I was expecting it to at least be back above 50k with Octopath and Captain Toad, so no surprise or disappointment there on my end. The next 4 weeks are going to be very tough though, since last year it had a stretch of 100k, 92k, 62k, and 85k sales because of Splatoon 2 and Obon Week.

When is Obon Week this year? I know I could google it and learn but I don't think I will be the only thinking when it is. 

WOW. Switch should have exploded this week, yet stayed at a miserable 50k+. No good.

To be fair, he derails many threads, not just Nintendo ones.

Especially when Nintendo has over 70% of the weekly marketshare along with 13 of the top 20 games, you have to be reaching pretty far to come up with a negative comment.

I mean, are you expecting a flat 45-50k until mid October? I don't think there's anything particularly wrong about stating that with all that Nintendo had going this week it's a bit disappointing that they didn't push a lot more systems.  Bringing up Splatoon 2's release and how it rose last year's sales is pertinent info as well, and is as fair game to comment on as when posters would bring up supply-constrained weak sales from last year to say that Switch is way up compared with last year.

is this surprising ? its only competition is basically a dead ps4, this is expected, i honestly expected switch to do much better if you see all my predictions, i always expected japan to blow away 2017, yet they will be basically on par in a few weeks.
