Maybe they don't want to give people the expectations that all their future games will also end up on the Switch since that hardware will be completely tramped on in 2 or 3 years. Maybe this game will find itself on Game pass sometime in the future after launch.

I'm also guessing Phil Spencer is somewhere in the background asking for this game to come to the Xbox, because they got a PC version, an Xbox version will take zero effort since they are the exact same OS.

Well although he himself would like to do multiplatform, he also stated that it's up to Sega. I'm not sure Yakuza will come to Xbox. It would be cool if it did though.

Hard to believe that the Wii U port of Yakuza 1 and 2 didn't make any money. It probably cost next to nothing to make that port and even though it didn't sell a lot it should have made some money.

As far as I know they did close to no marketing for the game.  Also its not like they did anything to the game to make it more functional on the Wii U its a straight port of the PS3 version without the trophies.

I just get the feeling a digital only release on the series XBO would be much more viable than attempting to get the Dragon Engine to run on the Switch lol

So their logic: A cheap port released only in Japan for WiiU failed, so instead they're now only interested in porting to Xbox One because that would somehow be more popular in Japan?
