Yakuza might come to Xbox. Not likely for Switch

Since Yakuza was confirmed for pc already, I can see this happening too. I hope they start with bringing out the Kiwami versions first. And the prequel.

Why not? I'd expect people in Japan to be into it since it's about the Yakuza and the Switch is popular in Japan so it would make sense to put this on Switch...

If anything I'd have thought the series would be more likely to come to Switch than XBO... releasing on more platforms would make sense though, the series deserves way more sales than it gets. Although of the other platforms, I imagine XBO would have the weakest sales.

It likely has more to do with it being easier to port to Xbox than Switch.

Yeah that's likely the exact reason, it's just quicker and easier to port lol... either way I'd say go for it, although it means my PS4 cases will by lying because they say "Only on Playstation"... THEY LIED TO ME! :P

Well, if you read the article, It says the director of the Yakuza games says the port for Wii U was a failure. These are his words:

"To be realistic about what happened... Nintendo Wii U was a major failure... We are always on the lookout to support multiplatform as much as possible... We know that it brings an additional audience... On the other hand, as far as the Nintendo Switch is concerned, I'm convinced that this is not the ideal platform on which to develop Yakuza games... Regarding the Xbox One, we can possibly consider it, knowing Xbox One users may be more likely to be interested in a game like Yakuza. This could potentially be an option."

Not interested in the least but thatís cool for people who are, if it does come.

When asked whether the Yakuza games could come to Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, producer Daisuke Sato said the following. The portions concerning the Nintendo Wii U pertain to the commercial failure of "Yakuza 1 & 2 HD for Wii U".

To be realistic about what happened... Nintendo Wii U was a major failure... We are always on the lookout to support multiplatform as much as possible... We know that it brings an additional audience...

To bad he didn't realise that Switch don't have anything with Wii U..

Oh no...our old PS2 ports released in Japan only on a failing console didn't sell, who would have guessed!? That's literally the worst reason not to consider a game for the Switch or any platform for that matter. This is the worst way to gauge a project's validity that I've ever seen. I would understand if you said, well it's underpowered and we don't want to hire a team to port it. I would have been fine if that's all he said, but man.

Considering the type of game I would expect higher numbers from Switch than from X1...but the cost to port to X1 is probably neglible compared to Switch.

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"
