Bad result for Zanki Zero. Huge blow to Spike, this game has been in development for some time... It's so good though.

Dengeki ranking is up, time for market share data.

Ys8 : PS4 60491 (45%) PSV 63157 (48%) NS 9539 (7%)

DeathMark : PS4 2040 (13%) PSV 12116 (77%) NS 1496 (10%)

Once again, more proof that 3rd parties are struggling on Switch (despite the growing userbase and the shitload of advertisment)

We also have some intel that Shining Resonance has a hard time selling on Switch. On the other hand, Fate Extella Link crosses 150K physical. Not very difficult to see where the market is. Let's hope that publishers notice...

time for market share data:

Super Bomberman R : Switch 145029 (93%) PS4 10892 (7%)

Let's hope publishers noitce...

See, I can make a silly post as well.

Ironically this is the best comparison to what he makes lol

Yeah that's why I used it. Just to highlight what a silly comparison it was :p

Silly but very good post. You see, you can filter down data or make up "intel" in favour as well. By the way, speaking of third party, let us see how Yokai Watch 4 and Octopath Traveler  will do. I'm sure Ryuzaki counts those games as valid too.

Why wouldn't Octopath top next week's chart?

But since it's an exclusive you can't even compare it to the multiplatform 3rd party releases.

But ryuzaki's comparison made sense?

Comparing how Ys 8 sold among the Vita/PS4/Switch makes sense in terms of the console split, yes. Whereas with Octopath what is there to compare to? Its exclusive to one system so we have no idea if it would have sold better on another system or not.

No, hes using Switch marketshare to try showing how 3rd parties cant succeed on Switch.

Ys VIII released in July 2016 on Vita, June 2017 on PS4 and June 2018 on Switch so looking at the split to make conclusions about 3rd party performance is flat out dumb.

It only makes sense if they released at or near the same time.

It's very relevant actually : casual 3rd party games sell much better on Switch so it gets more of them exclusively (Sumikko Gurashi, Fitboxing, Neko Tomo...)

I didn’t know SMT V, Yokai Watch 4, Octopath, or Bayonetta 3 are going to be casual games.

What's your definition of casual?

Yet all signs are pointing to Octopath being a hit in Japan.
