Forums - Gaming Discussion - Guild Wars 2 Writer Fired Over being a complete idiot on twitter, Gaming "press" defends her xD

I think it might also be noteworthy that this is not the first time Price has been fired from a company for er.... "speaking her mind".

Here's her take on it:

I just think it's hilariously ironic that she says things like her suggestions on how to improve things like a convention were waived off, and how unfair that was - as if those in charge of the con treated a game developer like those in charge were the experts and didn't appreciate nor ask for feedback on how to do their jobs better. Hmm. Also, I would love to know how she feels she is an "expert" in "dealing with toxic communities" considering how she handled feedback from a community member in this instance.

Actually, no. From what former co-workers said, Price is actually a pretty good writer. Hiring her is almost like a team signing a very talented athlete, though that athlete also has character concerns. Employers take these types of risks sometimes because they think the pros, e.g. Price's writing, will outweigh the cons, e.g. Price's behavior.

Also, when she makes public appearances, she acts cordially. It's the total opposite of how she acted against Deroir on Twitter. This is because Price (allegedly) thought that Twitter is a private space when in reality, it's not. If your account is set to public and your tweets can be seen publicly, then others are free to respond to your opinions. In my eyes, Price tried to maintain a friendly face and then, just could not keep up that facade anymore and her real personality leaked through.

So I watched the video of the guy she went off on and I am still puzzled.  In that video he even states how he loves her no nonsense approach to AMA and things of that sort.  I tried to look but was he in support of her getting fired from her job over this crap.  Like I said, some people really are not cut out for social media.  For all we know this woman could be bipolar.  One day she is an angle and the next she is freaking out over anything that makes her upset.

Bipolar people also make mistakes you know? Its not always an excuse.

Yes some people are not cut out for social media and others are not cut out to lets say drink alcohol because they get agressive, does it excuse them? nope.

If Price is bipolar, then she would have already mentioned that a long time ago. Instead, we see her making up a million excuses, and blaming the "hate mob" and Mike O'Brien for her firing. From the obviously biased coverage from Kotaku, Polygon, RPS, etc., it is clear that Price is trying to score sympathy points, which makes the bipolar angle not so convincing. She would already be mentioning that she has bipolar disorder in order to score even more sympathy points.

On the other hand, she does have a rather extensive history of making very misandrist statements and when she was with Paizo, she harassed the company's competitors unethically. To put it quite simply, she's a sociopath.

I am convinced she suffers from paranoia.

Or maybe just (severe) PMS. >_>
