And now PewDiePie has picked up on the incident (he talks about it starting around the 10:25 mark). His general thoughts:

  • He is blocked by Jessica Price on Twitter even though he never interacted with her once. He personally thinks that anyone who blocks people who they never interacted with don't care about reaching conclusions. They just care about playing the victim.
  • He, like most of everyone else, concluded that the situation had nothing to do with Jessica Price being a woman.
  • In attempt to play Devil's Advocate (I think), he argues that Price wouldn't have gotten fired if she was a guy and cites Hideki Kamiya as an example. However, he contradicts himself when he said that Kamiya is a very famous developer whereas Price is a writer since that is more of an argument on merits, not gender.
  • He criticizes Price and Peter Frie's argument that their Twitter accounts are "private", saying "if you tweet out your opinion publicly, people have the right to give their opinions publicly, as well".

I think at that point he was talking about the different arguments he has heard in her favor for not being fired.  He then goes on to refute that argument by saying he is a legend and that he hasn't seen him react that way to someone who was politely discussing with him.

So I took to Jason Schreier's latest tweet on the matter and explained how anyone doing what she did would be fired from their job. That a mob isn't needed for a company to decide to fire someone for being stupid like that. Got called a "Gator". Told them to do better. Got told that I don't care about harassment, especially of women. Then they proceeded to tell me that since I didn't ask what a "Gator" was then I obviously know what it means. In other words kids, don't bring up a valid point about her firing because that means you support harassment of women. Also, if you know what the term "Gator" means, then you apparently are one. Though that begs the question... if they know what it means too then aren't they also one?

Saw your tweet. Let's see if I get blocked too. I responded to his comment about Hideki Kamiya. I said he would have been fired years ago, if he worked for an American company. However he works for a Japanese company, so it isn't an apt comparison. I didn't even add the fact that Kamiya is one of the three founders of Platinum Games. The Hideki Kamiya comparison is a poor one. Side note: Papa John himself just got pushed out the company for saying derogatory things in an internal company meeting. He's the founder of the company. It's named after him. America is a totally different animal when it comes to these sorts of things. Here if you say something that could hurt the bottom line, you get let go.

Well aftsr that unprovoked attact on the fan, i agree with the company's decision to fire her. Talk about terrible customer relations. I am a bit on the fence about her colleague but considering he was condoning that, im not sorry he got fired too.

Exactly. He didn't even attack anyone directly. He made a racial slur and that was all it took. Just like with Price, it was completely uncalled for. How do you even reach that point where a company meeting gets you to say something racist? Unlike Price, he didn't say it for the whole world to see and it still got him pushed out. People defending her are acting like people don't get fired or lose their status all the time for saying dumb shit. They continue to try and claim that she was fired because of the luke warm rage of some internet mob targeting a woman. No. A thousand times, no. She was fired because she went out of her way to trash a customer and partner for the whole world to witness. Just like Adam Orth when he told customers, or would-be customers, to "just deal with it" in regards to Microsoft's DRM fiasco.

YongYea uploaded a 4th video. TL;DW version - Jessica Price is full of shit:

Isn't Kamiya one of the owners of Platinum? Of course the boss can't fire himself. Has nothing to do with gender.

Anyone who hires this woman, I will instantly boycott.

Same here. And tbh everyone who defend her too. I hope they accuse themselves. I have no interest in supporting devs that hate their fanbase.

I'm seriously considering buying Guild Wars 2 on principle.

Yeah and even if he is not, he has made a huge name for himself within the game development industry. Jessica Price, however, has created a reputation as someone who is too much of a hassle to work with. Her implosion on Twitter when she was still employed by ArenaNet is only the tip of iceberg.

The base game is free Darc, you got nothing to lose. Though it gets significantly better with the expansions in terms of storytelling (aka they drop the portrait dialogue style).

On Kamiya he may get into the occasional Twitter battle in fact a number of people do the difference is that shortly after his back and fourths he doesn't get on and start saying those that tweeted him are racist or sexist he takes what ever comes his way on the chin, compare that to here where she went off then played the victim role.
