I am considering it, that's why I see Crash port as a lazy one. In terms of visual effects, Donkey Kong is pretty similar, and runs way better.

But I guess Vicarious hasn't a good developer team.

Dkc:tf is a 2d game which was 60fps on the wiiu though.

Crash is 3d and again is a port of a 30fps game even on x1x , just because the 2 games have similar visuals on the finished frames, those post processing effects are just that... They're the layer of paint applied after the processing is done with, and the switch does all it can before that layer goes over those 480/720p frames.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is a 3D game, rendered in 3D on a 2D (Most of the time) plane.

Crash isn't in real 3D, it doesn't have all the complexity of the real 3D platformers

The N.Sane Trilogy is far more graphically advanced than Tropical Freeze though; as Ganoncrotch pointed out, TF was designed to run at 60fps on Wii U, Crash to run at 30fps on PS4. The reason Crash is 720p on Switch but Donkey Kong is 1080p isn't cos Toys for Bob are a bad developer, but because the former was ported down from a much stronger system and the latter ported up from a weaker one.

Or maybe, just maybe, they are. If you wanna argue about how Toys for Bob are as good as Retro Studios, I think that would be nonsense

I never argued that.

My point is, a game built for Wii U running at 1080p on Switch while a game built for PS4 runs at 720p on Switch is reflective more of the hardware the game was built for rather than the latter being a poor conversion.

do you really need 60fps for platforming? never needed it for crash bandicoot when I played it on the ps1 years ago.

Yeah, but how about games which runs at 1080p on Switch but built for PS4 ? Like NBA 2K18 or more recently Dragon Ball FighterZ ?

If there was a technical analysis of Dragon Ball Fighter Z I didn't see it, but NBA 2K18 was a 60fps game on PS4 that cut that in half to 30fps on Switch. Crash was already a 30fps game on PS4 so the devs didn't have that luxury.

Well, just at a glance, that looks like a far less demanding game than Crash with less 3D objects, simpler effects, etc.

Ok so I guess you won't agree with me on this, so there is no need for further discussions
