You never contacted eBay to ask for a refund?

I did, got turned down :|

I thought they usually sided with the buyer.

@Proxy-Pie maybe this is even better!!

Haha, yes I've seen that, but personally I'm more of a fan of the GBA SP's buttons and form factor. In my sketches, I basically wanted to elongate it slightly so my huge hands don't touch as much, and to add space for the bigger battery.

I have an AGS-101 already, so if I were to get a new modded version I'd probably want to go for the original model-style because I don't have one of those.

I also have an AGS-101, It's the first gaming system I bought brand new, and it's probably my favorite of all time :)

My first handheld I got was a Game Boy Color from a rummage sale, got it for around $6, and for some reason we chose to get R-Type DX instead of Mario Golf That was the only game we ever ended up owning though, and I have no idea where the GBC went. However, I do tend to prefer home consoles over handhelds myself.

Personally, I define "retro gaming" as anything before Gen 5, which was when gaming effectively and almost completely shifted from 2D to 3D. Of course, I was born in 1980, and the PS1 & N64 weren't released until I was in high school, so I grew up with 2D being the norm. Younger generations will probably have different conceptions of what constitutes "retro," as will people that use a "Anything older than x years" metric (which I don't use because it makes me feel old; my local classic rock station now regularly plays 90s rock, which was new during my preteen & teenage years).

Personally I think of the 6th generation as being when gameplay was pretty much standardized and creators could truly make what they envision.

I use the gameboy player on my Gamecube instead, that's easier ^^

It's like we're the same person or something. 1981, myself.

What everyone calls retro gaming, I just grew up knowing as gaming.

Until recently I think I would have said retro was anything before the PS1, Saturn, N64 but I've changed my mind. Born in 82 so that generation kicked off in highschool for me but now that feels so long ago and even though there was a shift in gaming there, well that happened in previous generations too and has happened in later ones too. It feels suitably old and significantly removed from modern games that I accept the 5th gen as retro now. I'm even verging on accepting the 6th gen when I look back at my Dreamcast and early PS2 games, that stuff was almost 20 years ago, however I think because that generation lasted at least into 2007, in my opinion, that it seems to new for me to say it is retro. I don't mind people calling it retro though.

I also spend most of my gaming time with 6th gen or lower games so PS2 games are obviously going to feel more modern when I still spend a lot of time playing them. There's no way I could call 7th gen retro though.

And 1982 for me, and can claim pretty much the same things as you two do
