Ys started with 28K on PS4, so 6K is kinda meh.

EDIT: I kinda missed Minecraft release on Switch last week. Has anyone numbers on how Minecraft started first weeks on other platforms? In this case Vita is also an interesting comparison, Minecraft on Vita is big in Japan.

Ya 6k isnt too great but then again it is a year old port of a year old port so not too much should have been expected, apparently its doing pretty good in the west.

I dont remember the exact numbers but someone did a comparison on resetera, Switch version of Minecraft had the best debut of all versions.

Thanks. And cool, I somehow expected Minecraft could be a title which goes well with the Switch, but no hard data. Let's see what numbers VGC spits out.

Seems like it was more targeted toward the western market

2 months before Kirby reach the 600K mark in Japan (Digital not counted)

Oh, interesting. Which brings up the question, why the japanese version did worse? Maybe on PS4 and Vita the game didn't got the proper attention outside of japan. The sales ratio is also kinda lopsided. Japanese sales on PS4 are three times as big as in europe or the US, overall half of the sales come from japan. On Vita it is even more extreme, sales are ten times as big in japan as in europe or the US and Vita sales are more than 75% of overall sales. Maybe sales on Switch will be more evenly shared between the regions.

Nice graph. I was thrown off for a moment with the 'baseline', but it actually is the average for this year, am I right? Baseline usually refers to the low-end sales which are to expect. Probably you should label these lines as average to avoid confusion.

Thanks. You're right, I wanted to throw a baseline but didn't know how to make it. If it's low-end sales then I can do that. Will update it the graph as average. So hoy do you exactly get baseline?

50k for Switch, yeah!

I hope Octopath will get a great launch and legs after it releases

Oh, and Labo varieté kit almost at 200k already, clearly showing some legs

MTA and Minecraft held a lot more than I expected. Switch is looking very good right now.

Out of curiosity, what big PS4 games are coming for the Japanese market before Kingdom Hearts 3? The lack of big releases is starting to cause a drop.

Good hold for Mario Tennis Aces.

Switch steadily going up gives me the idea that we’re past the worst period of the year.

Btw, Mario Tennis Aces legs seem to be promising.

Hope it can mantain the 50k+ from now on

Not much really, nothing big this summer and Granblue Fantasy seems like the only fall title with potential to be a system seller.

With the Dragon Quest boost of last July/August, it looks like PS4 will lose its YoY lead by the end of summer.

That's too bad. DQ and MH:W helped the PS4 actually gain some traction in Japan after doing pretty bad the first few years.

Great legs for Detroit and Pro evo on ps4. Ps4 hardware is average. Long over due a price cut. However 1m ytd celebration party next week. And we won't be too long from the 7m Ltd celebration. We are well on track to hit 10m+ this gen.

Next big boost will hopefully come in Q4 with a price cut and kh3.

Nothing that I know of.  I think the last 500k+ games the PS4 still have left are KH3, RE2:R and some kind of 'Ultimate' edition of MHW.  At this point, a price drop would do more for weekly PS4 sales in Japan than any kind of software since Sony has already gotten every significant 3rd party franchise the Japanese market would like outside of Yo-Kai Watch.
