What is the “Chloe and Nadine” thing? Because nowhere in the game did they ever hint that either woman is a lesbian. There’s nothing between them the entire game that remotely suggests this.

I think you missed the whole point of where he is coming from.. Like me he was or still is ND fan and as someone who aspires to work there someday, I have been following every news devs diary since like forever its not hard to notice that things are getting skewed towards an "Agenda" and looking at ND stance right now it feels ND flag on SJ commentary is flying a bit higher than their priority of making class leading games, and if you dig a little bit up more its not hard to find the person who is spear heading this is Neil Druckman. And I was one of those people who had been defending and praising Neil and Bruce take over of UC4 from Amy Hening, coz i loved neils writing so much, But man I was wrong. And I wont be surprised if we find out that Amy Hening left coz she was told to alter the story to suit this agenda or if she had some female character planned for the game.

Sure Introduce your SJW characters but don't flag them as a pole barring mascot for the community or for people who hardly care about narrative in video game or let alone play them, it comes off as an agenda. Now It feels as if ND is developing story to suit SJW characters to make a point, rather than story dictating the characters.

But when all said is done, I do feel if the gamer's really do see this stupid movement spoiling their fav franchise they will not buy it, like I have stopped after UC4.

I write an essay, and this is the reply I get. Most of this is stuff I literally addressed.

Oh well.

I came into this thread to laugh a bit as this whole notion of agenda, but left confused by that notion you wrote above. I must have missed something big, because never did I feel those two are together in that way.

The kiss only bothered me because I don't like romance in games. That's all. I like when games are kept more pure and naive than other media like films and TV, I mean, just want gameplay, action, friendship and fight against evil. The simple stuff.

Since it's a gay kiss, before someone calls me homophobic, misogynist, rapist, racist, global warming denier and Trump lover, I guess I have to say that I didn't mean I don't like romance because the example was a gay one, I just said romance in general. I absolutely don't dislike romance in games only when it's between two girls.

God bless You.

You might be playing the wrong franchise, mate. TLoU has quite a few layers to it, you "can't" sit back and relax in the TLoU, it's a bit of a downer most of the time.

OT: The video was great, touched on some topics I was aware and others that I was not. I think the weakest point if the nadine + chloe ship. It's just a fan ship (even if it comes from a dev), it happens so much in popular media. Look at naruto and sasuke, they have no romantic love for one another but they get shipped a lot.

The strongest point was definitely the PSX panel host. I knew who she was but had no idea she was gay or that she was barely a gamer. It makes so much more sense to find a person, regardless of race, gender or sexual orientation, whose a good presenter, interviewer and has good knowledge of the game and industry.

I personally still don't care much for it all and the kiss didn't bug me but I can agree that it was outplace and meaningless. I don't really think about agendas in video games but I can see how some fans can find these things as very distracting or in your face. I hope the game does not suffer from it, I hope druckmann and the team have some restraint when implementing some relevant social topics. They've done expertly before. Still very much looking forward to the game

I don't have any problems with very dark issues, but I don't enjoy sexuality in games, I prefer it to be more sexually/romantic naive.

I agree; and also I am not buying TLOU2

As you said ND is developing story to suit SJW characters to make a point, rather than story dictating the characters, and that is why they have ditched Joel completely since he wont be playable in the game as Neil Druckman confirmed.   They are just doing it for the sake of it, and not because it makes sense.   Joel was the protagonist of the 1st game, and Ellie a sidekick, having now Ellie as the only playable character feels so wrong.

It's only an "agenda" when it's gays, women, or brown people. It wasn't an agenda when they made five games in a row (U1, 2, 3, TLoU, and U4) starring a straight white male.

A healthy dose of moral panic and pearl clutching over Anita Sarkesian is always worth a laugh though.

As long as we're being so loose with the word agenda, The Last of Us (the first game) had an extremely prevalent, heterosexual male agenda.

The game is about Joel's struggles to protect the women in his life. His daughter. Tess, and finally, Ellie. This is a plot that appeals largely to the sensibilities of straight men or fathers. I seem to remember a transgender reviewer getting shouted down for pointing this out (in a 9/10 review btw) at the time.

The world is a big place with lots of different people in it. I'm neighbors with a lesbian couple. I work across from a black dude and next to an Asian woman at my office. My boss is a white woman.  All these people are the main characters in their own lives. As the tools to make art become more democratized, art will more faithfully reflect the world we live in. Just the way it is. I think panicking over it is silly.

Did you just assume Nathan and Joel's race/sexual orientation/gender!?
