Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Ys VIII is unplayable for me on the switch.

I don't know what you were thinking. It is obvious that multiplats will look better on the stronger systems.

Nintendo consoles are not generally where you find the best multiplats. In the case of the Vita it's where you find optional portability. That is the price to pay.

I suppose it's better than the Vita version though... maybe? Vita has a smaller screen so it might actually look better in motion.

I've played it for 5 hours on handheld mode... I've had zero problems with it

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

The grass "flicker" is incredibly distracting, especially docked. But I put in 10 hours and hoo boy, that gameplay has me hooked. I'll probably end up 100 hours or more in this.

Hmmmm okay? The game doesn't look that good on the PS4 either. And seriously, are you playing an Ys game for the graphics? I can understand the drop to 30fps cause this is an action RPG, but you're getting so much more on the Switch. This game basically screams portable play.

PS: PS4 also has the advantage of price.

As i mentioned i play 90-95% of the time on a tv screen.

OK, why on earth would you pick the Switch version if you play 95% on the TV, at home? It makes no sense. In your case, it would be cheaper, have slightly better visuals and 60fps. This one's on you.

Because the ps4 game is 60euro here and i got the switch version for 28euro.

Stop buying third-party games, folks.

What the fuj? Then stop whining, you got an amazing game, that looks average on every platform, for half price :)

PS: where did you get the Switch version for 28€? I want this game, but cannot find a physical copy in Greece (Sonyland).

It looks no better on the PS4. Ys is a mindless arcade action RPG and that is a good thing. If you are playing it for anthing else then you better get your money back.

I don't know how well the switch version runs. But I have it on Vita, it has some frame drops and the lack of AA or maybe its texture filtering issues that do it. But it has a bit of a shakiness to it due to textures being pretty good actually and the game not smoothing everything out.
I will say I never had a issue with Ys IV on Vita but this one, framerate does seem to be a bit of a bother. I assume the switch probably runs about the same but looks closer to ps4 then. I personally would have picked Vita version just for trophy support every time on portable, and ps4 if on console just because that same reason plus it'll look better. Plus I believe pro has 4k support for it. Though I'm a bit surprised by how great this game looks on Vita. I can't see how it's a issue apart from framerate. But then again I hate how most switch games look docked
