Forums - Gaming Discussion - Pubg Mobile has me hooked

I was on the bandwagon of hate for battle royale games. They looked shallow and the concept was barebones so I though they were deathmatch with no revives that were turned to a new game. I didn't realise that it worked. When Pubg and Fortnite became popular on mobile and all my not gamer friends started playing it I was like its a casual game so it appeals to people of all strata and that its popular because it makes news and sells tons so people jump on it.

I downloaded Pubg on the recommendation of a friend so I could play something with people who didn't game on anything other than smartphones. I was amazed! It got me hooked and I've played it for like 14 hours in 7 days. It has kept away from my PS4 and not just that its so much more convenient to boot up a game on your phone when you're tired and don't go on social media. Its a console shooter on the go. It doesn't control as well as Doom on the Switch but I don't find it difficult with the virtual pad. It does the job and the game is engaging.

Pubg on mid range mobiles runs at 1080p while Wolfenstein The New Colossus runs at really low resolutions on the Switch. I'm wondering if people would downplay this because they don't like mobiles.

I was shocked aswell with how well it and played, it really is a great mobile port.

Pubg mobile wishes it was 1080p especially on mid range phones its more 720p if not less, what the devs did with Wolfenstein 2 on switch is more inpressive than Pubg on mobile

That is a very poor comparison.

Mobile port is pretty good but I find it too easy to make top 5 every game I play. Way easier than the PC/Xbox version.

i would also recommend you try out Fortnite. it has a bit more going on that PUBG and is free on all platforms

Depends how you look at it. Pubg doesn't have the detail of Wolfenstein 2 but looks crisp due to the high res. We are looking at 360p and 480p versus 1080p which is a massive difference.

Pubg runs at 30fps at 720p on X1. Wolf 2 runs 60fps 720p on X1. I'm sure that has something to do with optimisation but still they are at least comparable and I prefer a less detailed but still current gen game running at a higher resolution than an effects laden blurry game.

I've played it on PC and liked it. Its not released on Android so can't tell if the mobile game is good.

Yeah I love it too. As you level up it gets harder. Lowet lvls have bots but around lvl 20 it is now all players and much more challenging.

I play this on Xbox and mobile. Mobile is cool and all, but a console is my preference for comfort and convenience reasons.

I’m glad more gamers are ‘coming out’ admitting they play mobile. Let’s face it, we mostly do. For the most part, mobile gaming is free, most of our favourite franchises have mobile versions, and it’s a great way to waste time when we can.

It's also stupid to assume that any coutner argument will be auto stamped as "downplayed".

The game looks like arse on all platforms, let alone running badly as well.

Wolfenstein is also a AAA game, while PubG is definitely not, which also makes for no sort of comparison.
