I told them I wanted FFXVI, PS4/Switch, fantasy setting like FF9 or FF12, directed by Hiroyuki Ito with Nobuo Uematsu or Hitoshi Sakimoto composing.

I made it clear that I have zero interest in mobile phone games or MMOs.

I also expressed my fondness for Dragon Quest, SaGa, FF Tactics, et, al,

Yeah, I chose 'other' for most of those and told them I didn't go for microtransactions in AAA games, categorecally don't buy games that emply anti-consumr practices like content-carving and only go for meaningful DLC to games that already felt complete at launch...

FF14 will have at least 2 more addons as Yoshi-P mentioned. Guess they will start working on the next MMO titel after that, what will be in about 3-4 years. FF14 will be 10 years old then, so it makes sense to go on.

I find it interesting that they bring up services of Xbox game pass and Origin premier. Could it be that Square is considering a service similar to those?

They don't even have the rights, anymore IIRC, I believe they reverted back to the PE book author.
