Forums - Gaming Discussion - PUBG drops Lawsuit Against Fortnite

Going against a company with less talent and a greedy Chinese company was never going to be a smart idea. At least they saw sense before the death knell.

It was never their intention to sue, they know a case like that wouldn't stand a chance. Probably wanted some publicity because their game is being snowed under by Fortnite. A better strategy would be to improve your sterile, bug-ridden and poor performing game, interest is fading fast.

Ah they finally realized they have no leg to stand on against Fortnite?

The makers of PUBG have made asses of themselves with this lawsuit as being jealous of a better game does not mean they can sue that game and succeed.

Perhaps they will try improving theirs instead of trying to destroy the other one.

It's becoming obvious now in this thread as to the people who side with FN and absolutely hated PuB from day one

It's almost like they forget that Epic took Blue under their wing and then ripped from them when Tencent told them to rip that opportunity that Blue once had. BUt hey, supporting a Chinese company like Tencent must help some people get on with their lives that bit easier.

''Hey guys. Maybe, instead of whining and neglecting fan feedback, we should fix our game?''

''My God. How didn't we think of that before?''

Took them long enough to realize they had nothing going in this suit

Yeah Tencent probably put pressure on Blue, since Tencent has big stakes in both Fortnite and PUBG.

Dropping a lawsuit doesn't mean that they came to that conclusion. Just like continuing a lawsuit doesn't mean they haven't addressed fan feedback.

Yaknow, I used to love Pubg, and I truly hated fortnite.
Man things have changed so much since I started actually giving fortnite a chance, it's all I ever want to play.
But honestly, this whole thing just really showed me how much of a bad company bluehole was.
Dude that game had so many problems that were never addressed partly due to the MS deal, and it still continues to be one of the most flawed popular games in the market.
The way Epic handles fortnite just really opened my eyes to how a proper developer should treat a game. Believe me when I say that I loved pubg.... but man, epic makes updates, map changes, gametype changes, features, every goddamn week. They make BH look like a joke.

It really just makes me ask myself why I put up with pubg's bullshit for so long. The whole lawsuit in this situation is almost emblematic of the kinds of business practices BH was into, which basically just boils everything down into a get rich quick scheme using some outlandishly overestimated valuation of their own product. Like, BH thinking they actually have a case, is like them thinking they actually are good developers.

I don't know if this makes sense, i haven't slept in two days.

That's another thing. Either way, out of all of this, Tencent still wins.

I wouldn't even be surprised if Tencent were to intervene at the last minute, had the case gone through.
