Forums - Microsoft Discussion - How MS failed at GTA IV.. again...

Ive heard numerous times that ms has excluisive rights to advertise gta4. Is that true and if so does that mean sony is not allowed to have gta4 commercials?

Mil. Sellers:

Wii:      25 titles       101.4 mil total    avg 4 mil per title

PS3:     14 titles      28.6 mil total    avg ~2 mil per title

360:     41 titles      89.8 mil total   avg  >2 mil per title

Microsoft failed also cause they don't have the game bundled with a new sku.

@ maximus optimus

Random 360 fanboys. I figured it was true because no one has yet to debate or dispute it. Not to my knowledge at least, so thats not saying much, lol.

They don't need to advertise it yet, .

They can wait for when it actually will be available.

I still don't see any failures. The game is on the 360 which is a big failure for the PS3 if anything.

I think its completly messed up Microsoft hasn't released any information about the content...

I have a feeling it will look like this:

If it was huge, and would increase sales dramatically, they would tell people what it is BEFORE the release date. This way they would get the whole undecided market, possibly even people who are choosing the PS3 version. (Personally, I'm defintly going with the PS3 version...but if the content was incredible, I would switch to the 360, hands down)

If it was something small, disapointing...They would not tell anyone, and let all the gamers buy the 360 version thinking it will be huge, only to come out its not, and they just made easy money from hardware/dlc.

I just think its messed up of MS to not release any information. I can easily see a class-action lawsuit if theres any disapointment in the content.

Surely advertisement for GTAIV cannot be restricted to one console. It has to be for all consoles. What do people expect Microsoft to do? Advertise on TV about GTAIV having episodic content, maybe they would if it was on only one console but they don't publish the game do they?

I don't see the problem or how this anything is Microsoft's fault. Rockstar is creating the content and therefore they should be the ones explaining what it is, not Microsoft. Second of all shouldn't they advertise what it is when it's closer to release. Especially if it has something to do with the storyline.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

all I know it's wait and see what happens the couple days before the launch and after.... then we can see what is the plan for MS if any... and didn't they say back at E3 that the DLC should be available shortly after the game or something like that....

but I doubt that with 50 million they just bought a time exclusive.... i'm pretty sure that makes the content exclusive and probably lock any other competitors to have something more at that price at least for a while...

now I don't see how home is a key factor against GTA DLC ??? I don't even see what people find in that thing.... having a 3D apartment where I can put stuff that don't exist seemed to me pretty geeky and nerdy... I'd play sims or world of warcrft if I wanted to have a home and play an avatar within a social network....

no really what is so awesome about home ???
