MS wasted 50 mill on dlc.

only the hardcore gamers care or even know about dlc

no doubt sony will be getting its own dlc. rockstar is more sony friendly, based on history.

home support with gta iv will rape ms's dlc.

wait, 50 million? Are they stupid?  They could be using that money to advertise the xbox360 that is getting pummeled right now.

yes but they made the deal quite some time ago

i personally have felt the entire time it was a waste i mean DLC the 1st of which minimum 6 months after the games release

that makes it the end of october early november the soonest

thats a VERY long time to wait for DLC that by the way wont be free

alot of gamers who buy GTA4 day 1 wont be playing the game cept for maybe online modes 6 months later

plus the DLC wont effect the story of the game at all its not like the PS3 version dont have an ending and the 360DLC content gives u an ending lol

im sure it will be a few new missions and things but i dont feel thats anything really worth it

im surprised u didnt know they paid 50 million. anyways its a big waste. they will never regain that back from the DLC. if they are lucky they can recoup 15 million

well they didn't really "waste" it seeing as how its a loan, but then again, the implication that it's a loan makes me think it really won't be all that great, if they essentially got it for free.

It is not a loan, the way it works is MS gave them 50 mil for the DLC.  Now id the DLC makes more than 50 mil than MS made a profit, but if the DLC doesn't make 50 mil well MS loses the difference.

there is no way MS will make more than a couple million dollars off DLC.  they are going to eat a loss of around 40 million for it at the best.  im thinking at best 500,000 downloads @ $20 a pop.

Most people don't care about the episodic content, it's not going to sway anyone but a few thousand Americans. Its power is being way overestimated.

yeah, i was thinking the same thing. if this DLC is suppose to be the deciding factor why the hell are we two weeks away from the release and we still don't have a single specific on what this content is let along any advertisement for it. I'm really wondering what they're thinking.

I'm also wondering when they'll start advertising it... I'd find it very surprising if they didn't.

Regarding whether the $50 million was a loan or not, I haven't seen any convincing evidence either way. I'm guessing it's not a pure loan, but it's not a pure moneybag either.

You may be onto something, Gebx. DLC was nevet a big deal to me anyway. In GTA games, I usually skip as much stuff as I can anyway. They're just too much game for this man to handle.

And Zapp Brannigan thinks the I, D21lewis.... ummm, the Rock says.....dammit! The me can't do your fancy third person talk!

i really don't think the DLC is going to affect sales even if they do advertise it, it will sell more on the 360 based on install base, that's it.

but we'll have to endure the 4 or 5 xbox fanboys shouting about how DLC did it all.

Rath thinks they are probably going to have a massive advertising campaign ala Halo 3 and make everyone think the X360 version is the only version to get, misleading the public in the other direction.

@Stockstar, well this guy, Rath, thinks that you are more likely to see at least three different episodes each worth $15-$20 and each likely to sell a million+. He thinks they are likely to make their $50M back.

This third person stuff really is quite fun.

If this content was available at the launch then i would say it will be worth for microsoft. Now it's just eehhh.

Gebx

I love how reasonable a person you are.

With the release pending, one would expect that Microsoft would come out and say what this exclusive episodic content is, not keep us in the dark. If I had a PS3, I'd be buying that version, just because of the fact that you don't know what content you will get.

god I hope it's not horse armor.
