I can't believe how pathetically gullible so many of you are, to believe this is anything more than a ploy by the people not in first to tarnish the image of the one in the lead. Microsoft is not your friend. They are a terrible company that has done nothing but fuck up the last DECADE. They have yet to release a single damn game this generation, exclusive to their console, that hasn't been better than mediocre. Phil spencer hasn't done shit to turn that around, not will he.

And Nintendo. Oh Nintendo. The "consumer friendly" company that has been selling you the same games since the 80's, generation after generation. Where a Nintendo exclusive that can be years old will still be sold at full price regardless of sales performance. Where a port of a five year old game with practically no additions is still 60 bucks. Sure. They're your friends. Go ahead and believe that.

We SAW what Microsoft would do at the top just a few years ago. They've had a pitiful performance this gen. Believing they care about the gamers, that Phil actually gives a shit about anything other than the bottom line... you're delusional.

As far as Epic goes with supporting cross play among console, it's because it's "free to play" meaning they need as many people to buy their ridiculously priced microtransactions! What is one of the best ways to do that? Brainwashing people into thinking they're "consumer friendly" with their 20 dollar skins and garbage pay-to-win save the world.

It's not for the benefit of the gamers. It's for cash and advertisement.
$20 for a legendary skin?! Like for real? Yet no one is seem to be complaining about how anti consumer that is!! There is no reason to charge that much! That's highway robbery, and you all damn well know it.

Do you really think other companies outside of Sony are going to do crossplay? Probably not and want to know why? It'll limit their sales! Every game publisher, every studio, everyone wants to sell as many copies of their games as possible. If so why aren't other companies encouraging cross-play? Why is it only a select few?

Even if they did do crossplay and you can pretty much play game on any system. You think they're not going to jack up the price on that game or cram pack it with DLC, microtransactions, or loot boxs to make up differences for losing potential sales than you're sadly mistaken!

Gaming is not, and never will be, a charity. For every positive action, there's a manipulative reason. Wake up and pay attention.

Well if Sony is so great, why isn't there a Sony 2?

Microsoft got Nintendo doing anti sony marketing :p
Good on them.

Only fair considering what Sony pulled early in the gen with "how to play used games".

Right? people are quick to forget that little detail lol

Does anyone believe Microsoft and Nintendo have the interest of gamers in mind? This is faker than my sexuality. Let's see what happens when the tables turn next generation. The end result is that, yes, it is good for gamers, but this is obviously just an atempt to destroy Sony's image.

Of course it is.They are a company, out to make money.Sony is also not "for the players".All those catch phares are marketing made for you to like said company and to buy their products.

With that out of the way, this is a really cool trailer, because it showcases a nice moment in gaming history, and shows two companies banding together to throw one or two punches on their competitor.

People tend to forgot what they want to forget. Like how when PS wanted cross-play and MS didn’t join. Now everyone thinks Sony is evil. If we don’t get cross-play does it really change anything? Can you not still log on and play the game with other people? When MS didn’t agree to cross-play I just kept playing games on my PS3. I didn’t take to the internet to cry about it.

There's literally no valid way to defend Sony in this instance.  It's just interesting to see the turn around from both companies this generation. Last generation you had cross play with titles such as Final Fantasy XI across PC,PS2 and Xbox 360, was pretty awesome. This generation in order to defend Sony people have to bring up ''Well well this one time Sony asked this and Microsoft said no'', which somehow justifies Sony's current arrogance.  People back last gen had the right to criticize and even give Microsoft the same level of hate that they're giving Sony now, but to use that old excuse as a crutch to prop up Sony and damage control for them is pretty folly to me too.

Sony has messed up in their decision to cross-platform play this generation, that may change and it may not, it's still a screw up, so the other two companies are just going to capitalize on it and band together for certain titles, smart business move overall and hopefully it continues. Then by the NEXT generation in a few years, hopefully all three companies will be doing cross play together and all three get over their own individual arrogance

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Call me crazy but you're coming off as someone who is extremely mad that someone would say something about Sony that is in a negative light. No need to get this worked up over a subject of this nature. Cross play, its a good thing, whether Sony does it or any other company. Friends across all platforms get to have fun together. It's a positive

Not defending Sony. It’s messed up that people can’t transport their Epic accounts from Sony to other consoles. But Fortnite and Minecraft have thriving online communities and you’ll feel no ill effects nor benefit from not having or having Sony players online with other consoles. MS and Nintendo are smart for making this PR move but ultimately it’s not gonna boost them past Sony. In a few months no one will care about this because it’s quite pointless. I wish I weren’t a Sony fan because that fact almost makes my opinion moot. Although I’ve had the same stance on cross-play no matter which company doesn’t want to participate.
