That is not necessarily true in a lot of cases. There have been a number of indie developers that have touted the Switch version of their game either being the best selling or comparable to other releases. Beyond that games in the Lego series, Rayman Legends, Sonic Forces, L.A Noire have sold on par with (at least with Xbox) or in some cases more than their PS4/XOne counterparts.

This is slightly off topic, but I am surprised you own a Switch. I would have thought you would be the last person on the planet to purchase one. I am curious as to what game tipped you over into purchasing one?

I agree that indies have found their home on Switch, but differentiate them from regular 3rd parties since the pricing is different. LA Noire definitely didn't sell on par with PS or Xbox since you need to take into account the sales of the original PS360 game. I agree with the other examples you mentioned, that's why I said "generally".

I bought the Switch for Fire Emblem Warriors and it exceeded my expectations. It was my 2017 GOTY in the action genre. Also bought Xenoblade 2 but stopped playing after a few chapters. Will probably resume at some point.

No, you do not factor in the original PS3/360 versions when comparing the Switch version to PS4/XBO.

If we're including indies, than several, but outside of those, along with games I've had to occasionally pick up for reviews, not many.. Sonic is the only one that comes to mind.

At some point I'd still like to get Skyrim, Wolfenstein, and maybe Payday 2 for Switch, but I just don't really have the time (nor the finances) with my backlog and games I'm playing for articles.

Dragon Quest Builders 2
Rayman Legends
Mario X Rabbids
Disgaea 5
Puyo Puyo (Physical)

Plan on getting Ys VIII, Disgaea 1 Complete, Octopath, Crash Trilogy, and Monster Hunter.

Too many indies to count.

Split into how good they are:

Fantastic:

Yodanji
Bayonetta
Bayonetta 2
Puyo Puyo Tetris
Overcooked
Golf Story
(FE Warriors, since it was made by a third-party)

Good-
Cat Quest
Mario + Rabbids
Unholy Heights

Eh-

Ambition of the Slimes

Regrets, wish I didn't spend the money-

World of Goo
NBA Playgrounds
Shovel Knight
Shaq-Fu (got it free, even then it's not really worth it)
Snipperclips

Donkey Kong (Arcade Classics)

Bought but haven't played:

Octopath Traveller (based on how great the demo is, this will be my favourite Switch game when it drops)
Overcooked 2

For a total of 20.

Those aren't 3rd party games.

Mario + Rabbids is a 3rd party game

Of course you do. Because PS4/X1 might not feel the need to pick the remaster if they've played the original on their previous console. On the other hand, the Nintendo audience doesn't know the game at all so those people are more likely to pick it up. Remaster-only comparison is definitely not fair. Switch version not selling well compared to the original shows that this audience has little interest in core games like that.

More than first party games. If it has an art style and cute girls, I'm highly likely to buy it.

This is a very naive assumption you are making that gamers only stick to a single brand, multi-console ownership was quite high last generation and according to Matt from NPD, it still is to this day.

Just because its the first time the game has come to a Nintendo console does not mean Switch owners havent previously played it on PS3, 360 or PC.

I believe 3.

Might not sound like many, but I only own 6 games, so it's half.

1. Shovel Knight
2. Stardew Valley
3. Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle
4. Zelda Breath of the Wild
5. Mario Odyssey
6. Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Those are the games I own, I believe.

Only Bayonetta 1 and 2 so far (And those probably don't count since they're Nintendo published/funded). I don't get many third-party games since the ones I'm interested in are indies and they're way cheaper on Steam (Even without the sales because we have localized prices for Brazil). I'd love to get them on the Switch but it's just not feasible for me, sadly.

I'll be getting Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy soon enough though.
