20million sales in 6 months is showing people getting sick of BR mode? Interesting way to look at it.

Is that what I just said? You know, I'm starting to get to the point where I realise rational discussion on forums is impossible because the responses become so extreme and don't relate to the point made. YES (Because I have eyes and can read), I can see that Bubg is a big success. Now we've got that nonsense out of the way we can move onto what I 'actually' said: I said a long time ago that the trouble with the success of pubg (notice I used success even back then) is that other companies would jump on the bandwagon and start forcing battle royal modes into their games. This is now happening. The problem these devs will eventually face, and are already facing to a certain extent, is that 'time' is the deciding factor. Everyone will be trying to take a slice of the battle royal pie but only a handful of games will benefit from it because people only have a certain amount of time in a day to dedicate to these games.  There's room for only so many of these games and those companies that insist on adding battle royal modes to their games will annoy their fans and actually reduce their sales. For a long time these companies will think engagement is more financially rewarding than actual sales of the software so even if they do see a reduction in sales they'll take heart from those statistics. What they're not thinking about is the long term affects. As people get more and more options, their engagement numbers will go down and they'll be left with a franchise that sells less and have no meaningful engagement. They'll kill their own franchises.

It happens all the time, people included multiplayer in their games because it made some games succesfull, then they copied capture the flag and plant the bomb modes. Moba's and Minecraft were some of the recent crazes that people were copying like crazy and how does it hurt now exactly.

I said it a long time ago about how Pubg will have a negative affect on the gaming industry because lots of developers will jump on the bandwagon. And here we are with people already getting sick of battle royal modes getting forced into beloved franchises. The bubble will eventually burst when developers suddenly realise time can't be divided infinitely .

Not to mention, what “beloved franchises” have had battle royale “forced in”? I can only think of Call of Duty 2018 and Battlefield. Two games that aren’t even out yet, lol. And two “beloved franchises” that are always torn to shreds on the Internet but then go on to sell millions.

Say what.

My dude, the industry has been bandwagoning get rich quick ideas for decades now. Have you not noticed over the past few decades of certain genres "exploding" all over the place and then receding while another genre explodes?.

We've had the platformers, the puzzle, Point & Click, RTS, TBS, FPS, 3rd person, Moba, MMO, TDM, FFA, and even Halo's game modes have been emulated before.

BR just so happens to be the latest money making trend, which is why we're seeing so many devs in both the indie and AAA space latching on, because that game mode makes money so fast and so much over so little time, it's the perfect get rich quick scheme currently going within the gaming industry.

Blaming one game, when we've had others before it just seems daft, especially when you look at how popular PuB and FN are. Even before that, ARMA's Day Z mod was quite popular way before PuB even existed.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

I feel feel really sorry for the company for not releasing on PS4.

Such an untapped market. :/

CCP banned battle royale games in China, because of that, chinese gamers are playing it on western servers through VPN. I see chinese players very often.

They said they would ban them. Unless they surrendered the game and had it published by a chinese company (Tencent has a monopoly). Disgusting government they have there, but the people are too brainwashed to realize it. The Xbox would probably have to be sold through a chinese company as well, which never ends up well in any scenario.

100% of the Chinese people that I've talked to about the Chinese government are well aware that it is terrible.  Of course, all of those people were in the USA when I talked to them about it.

It's Alexa Bliss.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Comparing PUBG and Fortnite player base,
PUBG has 400 million with PC, Xbox, Androod and IOS.
Fortnite has 125 million on PC, Xbox, Playstation, Switch, IOS.

Yet way more people play Fortnite than they do PUBG.

It's amazing to think that Fortnite totally kicks PUBG's ass when one hears that despite coming far behind, PUBG still displays impressive numbers.

The Battle Royale genre seems to be here to stay.

Considering that each game has to be bought that ia a huge amount of money they are making.

It's a fad, plain and simple. Think Pokemon Go.
