Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Should I worry about Switch region locking?

Apologies if this is redundant but i need more concrete confirmation from the Nintendo stans here. I'm planning to buy a Switch from Malaysia where I'm from. But once summer break ends I'm going back to UK so should I worry about buying games there and stuffs? Will there be complications?

Don't worry. Since the Nintendo Switch is region free, you can create a UK account on your Switch so that you can buy UK Switch games without any problems.

You just have to make a UK Nintendo Account and you'll be A-ok ;)

Yeah, it's great that the Switch is region free.

the nintendo switch is actually the easiest console to use in a region outside of the one your account is registered to. they won’t block your purchases due to your ip address like some other companies might.

As far as I know not a single one of the consoles blocks purchases based on IP address.

Plus if anything the Xbox One is the easiest to use in different regions since it allows you to change your account region on the console itself, no need to create different accounts for each region.

You can do it on the switch as well
