Forums - Gaming Discussion - Activision strikes again: locking BO4 DLC behind season pass and BO3 DLC behind BO4 digital pre-orders FOR PS4 ONLY!

Well, it sure seems like Activision is doubling down on its slimy tactics this year. First they had the audacity to make all BO4 DLC exclusively for season pass holders, meaning multiplayer maps won't be sold separately like before and are locked behind a $100 paywall. As infuriating as that was, they decided to take it a step (actually, two steps) further and lock the latest BO3 map pack containing reskinned classic Black Ops maps (Slums, Summit, Firing Range and Jungle) behind PS4 digital pre-orders for the game.

You read that right, people: if you play on XB1 or PC or pre-order BO4 physically on PS4, you don't get access to these maps.

Ugh, as if it's not already bad enough that they're making you pre-order it digitally in order to get access to these nostalgic maps on BO3, if you play on Xbox One or PC, you're out of luck. Activision has officially hit a new low with their anti-consumer bullshit, and believe me, that's setting the bar pretty damn low. I'm completely dumbfounded by this. Making multiplayer maps exclusive to one console and holding them hostage digitally to boot? I'm not one of the people who's bullshittery it affects as I own a PS4, and even I'm pissed about this, XB1 and PC CoD fans must be livid. Then again, this is the same company that charged for DLC maps for a 9-year-old remastered game (MWR) and upped the price of said DLC to boot.

I expect them to sell the DLC maps separately. The thing about the season pass is probably for pre orders.
The PS4 exclusive maps will probably come to XBO and PC. I remember when they released MWR standalone and it was only for PS4 for a month but they eventually announced the Xbox and PC version.

Can't wait to not spend my money on this.

And all the sheep people will still buy it! Wel never ever will they get a penny from me.

Even more reasons not to buy this.

So very, VERY many people will not learn from this. Yet again. I still see vids on youtube, and opinion pieces on gaming sites, recently, within the last 2 weeks, that amount to, seemingly, surprised outrage over the latest scumbag move EA has made with Battlefront 2, or the most recent slimeball maneuver Activision has executed with Destiny 2, ect, ect. As if it should be anything less than fully expected. I won't buy anything they put out ever again, and I do this because they suck, and will continue to suck. I seriously hope people that buy their products continue to receive the grifting they deserve.

They already said they won't sell the DLC maps separately and even if they backtrack on this, it won't be until long after the maps are out.

Even if they do release the BO3 maps for XB1/PC, locking them behind digital pre-orders was already bad enough by itself.

Why the hell people even care with this trash, and the F**K SONY why would you work with Activision on delivering exclusives content to PS4. Destiny 2 fiasco also bad to gamers, i hope SONY realize this.

I think they will end up having DLC maps bought separately when they come out.

I get why their doing this digital pre order stuff and tbh I don't see the big deal. Pre order the game and get maps for the game you already own.

PUBG is 20 bucks and all future maps are free. Fortnite is free. This game has no chance good bye Activision.
