Forums - Sony Discussion - PSNow getting download feature? (Rumour)

PS Now + Game Pass = PS Soon?

This would be a step in the right direction and a decent answer to Game Pass for the time being.

wait... but if you were to download the ps3 game onto the ps4, then disconnect the ps4 from the net, you see that it wouldn't make much difference having the files which the system cannot natively play on it, this if true would mean there would be capabilities in the ps4 to natively play ps3 games, which then raises the question of why it just wouldn't do that for disk based games like the xbox1 does for select X360 titles.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Unless they've built a competent emulator, I don't see how they're doing this. The whole point of the stream initially was so hardware-based emulation could take place at a server and streamed to the player.

This would be a big improvement, but the ship has sailed, I think.

Game Pass is just a better mouse trap.

The game subscription "battle" has barely begun. The ship has hardly sailed, both services are in their infancy.

If its true and you can buy the games and download them and own them
Then i will be very interested to use psnow

I don't think so. I mean, there's what? Almost 600 games on PSNow, and they don't go away. Plus, you have the option to stream or download, rather than having to wait/have the space to download any game you wanted to play on Game Pass.

I think if they can find a way to make the $100 a year deal (of something close to it, $150 a year maybe) permanent than it could overshadow Games Pass.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

For PSnow to actual compete with Microsoft Gamepass they have to launch every new PS4 exclusive game in PSnow something Sony wont do or they'd lose sales . and PSnow has to cost 10 dollars per month . I think Sony is 20 dollars a month for PSnow?

yeah... no.

I had PSNow for 100$ for an entire year. The only reason why I didn't resub was exactly the tiny amount of input lat that is especially noticeable in games where careful timed input are key to play. Racing games, fighting games, FPS (even though I always play fps on pc) were pretty much unplayable.

Now if this becomes a reality and I'm actually able to download an play some games locally, I'm signing in again in a heartbeat.

Fair points, both. Perhaps I was a little theatrical in my post. Fortunes can indeed change suddenly in this industry. Look at PS3 to PS4, or, in the other direction, X360 to XOne.

Still not interested as I've too much to play already. Would be a huge addition though.

Still dont understand why they are not just doing a all in one service, music, films and games... just like PS+... just merge it all into one and give more value for money...
