I'm also considering SoT, but I heard bad things about it so I'm still not too sure. I'm more of a "it's worth it if I spend X hours on it". Doesn't matter if the Xbox has only one game but if It's able to keep my interest for a month or 2, the whole purchase would be worth it to me (I hate boredom).

Halo MC Collection and then, Halo 5. Sunset Overdrive, Cuphead, Ori and Sea of Thieves are good places to start.

 You had it right. I bought the 2 TB  model the day the S launched. 

Same, although I didn’t buy it at launch. Maybe a week or two later. That 2 tb was sweet but I lost interest after a year or so for a lack of games and sold it. Now I’m thinking of buying it again for Forza Horizon 4 lol. 

 

Im a sucker for racing games. :(

Finally unboxed my S today (only the minecraft bundle was available -_-, went for 230USD more or less). Actually like the compact construction of the S more than I do my PS4s. Fan's on top (the big circle IS a fan right? Also, a tiny part of it is blocked by my monitor, hope that's not a problem), power/eject button doesn't use tiny buttons in an unseen part of the device (TF is wrong with you Sony?? :P). Position of HDMI cable connection is very intuitive (no more fumbling in the back of the thing since my setup is quite tight, again, TF Sony?!?). Everything was going great til I got the controller. Button setup isn't so bad, smooth feel and.... IT USES BATTERIES?!? (ew!).

Other than that, actually happy with my purchase but not looking forward to the whole registration/etc thing. Never enjoy that (it's downloading updates atm).

If you're a sucker for racing games, why did you sell in the first place?  Racing games may be the only category with Xbone outshines the competition.

I know, I’m kicking myself for it. And you’re right, xbox does racing very well. It’s the reason I got an Xbox one was because forza Motorsport 5 looked so incredible when I played it at GameStop in 2013. The sun glare, the reflections on the cars, everything.

Yes that is a fan. No, having a small portion blocked isn't an issue.
These things are difficult to overheat, not only is the fan and heatsink bigger than required, but the SoC will throttle anyway.

I never did own the S, but I owned the version prior... And sometimes I forgot it was even turned on it was that quiet, my X however is a little noisier.

You can buy a play and charge kit.
Personally I enjoy the fact it uses AA batteries, I can hot swap my batteries once they start to go flat with a new fully recharged pair.
No more stupid cables!

Plus., when the batteries eventually die (It is a matter of when, not if, lithium cells are typically good for only 1,000~ cycles most of the time.) I can easily replace them

I also prefer batteries.  When my batteries are getting close to the end, I can swap them out, be back online in 15 seconds, and continue playing wirelessly.  When my DS4 dies, I have to plug in.  

Just get some high quality rechargeable batteries and a decent charger.  For a $25 investment, you'll never have to plug that controller in to anything.

I second this. Play n charge kit is an essential purchase OP. Buy it now.

Yeahhh, but batteries mean I can’t leave the controller just anywhere. Got a baby in the house, I basically tape up anthing with batteries so she doesn’t mess around with em. You read horror stories online (I know, I know those things are clickbait but they’re preying on the overprotective dad in me) about babies swallowing batteries.

No biggie, gonna store the Xbox in the gym/man cave and not in the living room just to be on the safe side.
