I don't think they will say anything, but it be would be great if they do.

This sites numbers aren't reliable. the sale through numbers could be very well be off, remember nintendo was finally was able to have enough stock WW to  fulfill demand last quarter.

So you're just not gonna believe any numbers then?

Next shipment is numbers are good then there doing great, i believe it will be low because they over shipped for the last quarter.

People underestimate Nintendo Labo. It will drive numbers. Nintendo Labo was always meant to sell during holidays season, not at launch. They will make huge commercial campaigns for it during holidays season. Why they released it in April? That's their secret but Nintendo Labo isn't a traditional video game that is basically doing its biggest numbers during the first few weeks after release. It's a completely new (toy-) product and it will be interesting to see how it will do during holidays season.

Ment to sell during the holidays, yet it did nothing substantial during golden week or after it got a price cut in Japan, and was released 7 months out from western holidays. Sure, they'll probably have new labo kits and with them a new marketing campaign for the holidays. Doubt it'll fair much better but we'll see.

Smash and Pokemon will likely get that done.

You think a non core Pokemon will cut it though? Genuine question because I haven't kept up with people's interest in it. After they announced that the main game wasn't coming out until (next year?) I lost all interest completely.

Game freak is treating it as a main title, and e3 reception was really good, with a lot of people also waiting in line to play. With the most shipments of any switch game, I think it's safe to assume they are banking on this title

It's a main title both from their own words and how it's handled, LG is a branch of mainline Pokemon that's aimed at a broad market while the core series is aimed at traditional fans much like 2D and 3D Mario games, you not being interested doesn't mean anything here.

Yeah i do the same, only in the house, but it´s great to be able to play in bed lol.

Gaming in bed is awesome. Even though I have a PS4 and a 4K TV in the bedroom, I still spend more time on Switch or Remote Play. Just much more comfortable playing a handheld while laying down.

Because I can play both Nintendo games and Multiplats everywhere I go?

It's not just Nintendo games, though of course they are taking center stage on a Nintendo console. There are more and more third party games getting announced, and while they don't produce high sales boosts, they do contribute to a higher baseline than what we had last year.

The problem with multiplats on the Switch is the performance is a bit rough. I bought Doom and WWE 2K18 to test out a few multiplats, and both games feel like I am playing in slow motion, especially WWE 2K18. Firing up the Vita for Remote Play from my PS4 Pro offers a better expereince in both games. Based on those results, I have no interest in buying another Multiplat on the Switch.

With the Switch being so big, the only time I can carry it with me on the go is when I have an extra beg. In these situations I am typically traveling, and have Wifi, were I can get the better expereince via Remote Play. The Switch is nice for flights, but I the couple dozen times I could use it a year just doesn't justify buying multiplats on it.

It is a great system for Nintendo games. They are doing excellent making their titles work great in both home and handheld mode. When it comes to Multiplats though, I can get a much better expereince at Home and on the go Via both Sony and Microsofts platforms.

I was all set to buy WWE 2K18 until the reviews came in, and then I backed off.  Still would have bought it if they ever bothered to fix it, but they never put the effort in to make that game playable.  NBA 2K18 is a much better example of what a multiplat on Switch can and should look like.  One of my co-workers and I are co-operatively playing a franchise in the game.  We get together and play with another friend of ours on weekends on the tv in my house, and my co-worker and I can also knock games out during lunch break at work.  If I had bought the game on any other system, we wouldn't be able to do that.

I don't ever play Switch in handheld at home when I have a 55" TV to console game on.  It would be like reading a book on my phone when I have a copy of the actual book in my house. I don't need access to wifi to continue my offline 2K franchise or any of the other Switch games I play at home.  And, I don't need to leave a system turned on at home to tether it to either.  I can take the Switch with me when my wife and I go to the park with our dog and continue whatever game I am playing at the time.  For me, that's way more than a couple of dozen times a year.  That's six times a week.  Between that hour in the park each day plus 1/2 hour lunch breaks, I've gained almost 9 hours a week that can I put into my console gaming.  Time that was previously spent messing around with cheap mobile games on my phone.  And that's not counting the hours I pick-up from everywhere I else I take it.  The Switch has been a massive boon to me, as I'm completing games (Nintendo and 3rd Party) at a much faster rate than I used to.

20 million Switch units is still possible.

100 million software units is far, far, far out of reach.

Why is 100 million so unattainable?

Last fiscal year was 15.05m hardware and 63.51m spftware for a tie ratio of ~4.2.

Do digital games count for their software goals? I would assume they do, and if that's the case, there is probably a large skew between people who buy digital games and those who don't. I own five or six physical games, but probably 15 to 20 digital games on my Switch. Software units sold was a lot more consistent of a number a few gens ago, but now there are games selling for just a couple bucks at their full price, and I assume those game sales count towards the 100 million.

Tbh I'm a coward and just play the sit & wait game.

Pretty sure it has been clarified that the 100 million stated goal is for games that have a retail release only. At least, that's what the folks on era thought. Games with digital only releases were not included.
