I think I'm the only one who was very unimpressed by this game. The graphics and story were solid, but the gameplay got stale two hours in. Shoot runners, evade people, shoot people, evade Clickers. It never really evolves or adds anything new, so I got bored very quickly even though I did manage to beat it.

Can you at least point out which game you've played that has no repetition of any kind so we know what you consider a good game and why you dislike this one!

What in the world are you on about. A good game is one where the gameplay evolves as it progresses and introduces new concepts. The Last of Us introduces everything in the first two hours and then side-steps with one-off sequences like the "tank," the sniper, the diner stealth part. It's window dressing to distract from the fact that no mechanics are expanded upon.

I'm expecting BC for the PS5 so I'd say 20m+.

The PS5 Exists.

As you've so easily quantified it. Name 2 games that follow exactly the principles and practises that you mention above. Don't tell us what Last of Us does wrong, you've already done that, tell us what games you've played does it right!

This year? God of War, with its expanding battle mechanics, and from awhile back, Dead Space 1, which uses new enemy types to achieve the same. Once you’ve shot a runner, evaded a clicker, and a person, you’ve done everything Last of Us has to offer. Minus one Bloater in the gym and two at once before the hospital. They don’t even have infected and people interact until one part at the end of the DLC.

so i'm playing Last of us after 100% GOW, and i think it was mistake, it's my third play through, and just doesn't feel as great after experiencing a game like GOW. keep in my that the last of us was my GOTG last gen.

I think it is perception of playing a game the first time versus replaying it years later. A lot of the wow moments are lost 2nd or 3rd time. Namely when the game play was not the strongest subset criteria of Last of Us, it was the amazing narrative that blows you away.

I imagine some people will have the same experiences with other strong titles this generation.

second time still loved it, 3rd time after 3 years, i'm enjoying it, but going from such a action packed game with such amazing intense combat, to last of us is a bit jarring. I always  liked ellie but i found her annoying this time around, like singing ,and whistling, and her playful  attitude, just doesn't fit a world where a person is trying to fight for survival against clickers, and infected I'm really gonna miss joel because his attitude is straight up about survival, makes the world seem more believable to me.

A kid acting so nonchalant  in a terrifying world filled with clickers, and infected is normal? Hell no. I mean i could understand when they were in the safe zone, but i would think even adult would be very serious when they are trying to survive, but she just act like normal kid having normal day.
