Like, I completely understand that Nintendo thinks that they have enough with Pokemon, Smash, and Mario Party for later this year. However, what I don't understand is why they would say that their goal is to sell 100 million software units this fiscal year if they weren't going to go all-out with game releases. That was a really, really stupid statement to make when their current software output makes it impossible to reach their goal. They should have just done like 60 million units or something, a slight increase from last year.

Nintendo showed what they needed to show to have a successful 2018, and they mostly showed games releasing in 2018 unlike a lot of others... I'm personally a huge fan of Smash, Pokemon, and Mario party so in my eyes, I think the conference was great. If you're not a fan of those games, then sure maybe not so much. But that could be said about any conference.

The only game I cared about from the Sony conference was Spiderman, but a lot of other people liked it. It's all about perspective. And when you consider that Nintendo basically split their E3 in half, focusing on 2019 games later in the year, I think this was handled decently. You don't need to show everything at E3 if you're like Nintendo and have directs throughout the year. 

Hated the Direct. The year has been a bit underwhelming when it comes to bigger games, but it has made me discover some great smaller ones. Ill just file 2018 under "recoup year" after the amazing 2017. 2019 better be great though.

I thoroughly disagree. Any Switch only user would have enough to play, even now. Especially if you don't have another system for indies and smaller studio games. Like I already explained, there are a lot more smaller games that maybe you don't care about, but others might. And as I recall, being a PS4 and Vita owner for a long time myself, Vita support dried up pretty quick so Sony focused basically on one system too. And I don't know if you recall, but the PS4 had very little "big" games until Bloodborne, aside from its launch games Knack and Killzone and Infamous later on. However, it had enough smaller games to fill the time for me. And it had a lot of remasters too. That was a period of maybe 2 years, but very similar.

Well, as a switch-only user, im more than set for this year. At least a game per month, and still have a few games to complete on my collection. Was planning on getting a ps4, but might as well wait till next year. Dont have the time as i did a few years back. Switch is more than enough right now

When you look at PS4 exclusive games, the first two years were certainly weak. I can imagine this due to the advanced technology and scale of the games, but not with Switch, which is basically a portable Wii U. Even when Wii U just got released it was already underpowered. Nintendo also doesn't offer a decent 3rd party line up which PS4 did in the first two years. Right now and the coming year, besides random indie games, Switch isn't offering anything special from both Nintendo or 3rd party. 

It is nothing like the WiiU though. Totally different architecture and the Switch is more powerful. And what do you mean with decent 3rd party line up of the PS4? Do you mean the games that were also available on PS3 and 360? Like Fifa and Call of Duty? I don't think you looked at any games for the Switch past the first year, cause that is blatantly false.

Still maintain my view on the showing although I took into account the content the first time round anyway not what I was hoping for, I gave it 7/10, the content overall was fairly solid but not spectacular the are still games I'll be picking up from it. I guess one reason I'm not too bothered about the showing is Nintendo's nature to withhold things for later NDs, 2019 however looks to be an overloaded year for the platform.

The pacing was off, but it wasn't bad by any means. At least you can't blame them for showing cinematic trailers, without game play and release dates (the most common complaint of any E3). I think it got overhyped and leaks and rumors didn't help at all. I mean, we're getting new Pokemon, and Smash this year. These are massive titles. Even if you're not into either of those games there are Mario Tennis and Party, Daemon X Machina, Octopath Traveler + bunch of 3rd party like Fortnite, Wolfenstein, NBA, FIFA, Darksouls, Crash, Dragon ball, Starlink etc. Not to mention new FE in January. There are SO many games releasing in next few months, it's mind boggling. I'm pretty sure, if they released even one more huge title this year, those games would cannibalize each other's sales. Of course Nintendo is to be blamed too. They should NOT tease us with, what it seems, games in very early stages, or simply not ready for release. Or at least follow the trend and show a teaser trailer, although I understand why they did it. But saying that there's nothing interesting coming out this year is plain stupid.
