Forums - Gaming Discussion - Cyberpunk is a first person shooter RPG, play as male or female

Maybe the demo didnt have option, but the game itself can be third person also. We dont know for sure, could be like GTA5.

Hype levels RISING

I didn't like how witcher was 3rd person, so this is great news for me. I also like how it's a "blank slate" character like Elder Scrolls.

Looks like this is not going to be a witcher reskin with guns. I'm genuinely hyped for this now

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Great.
I was worried this was going to be another third person action RPG like their previous stuff.
It is always nice to see studios avoid falling into the trap making the same games continuously.

Plus I prefer first person games, so that's another plus.
I may actually but this game now.

Yeah. This is honestly why I don't bother buying anything from TellTale, seeing as how they inject the same gameplay and story approaches within the games they make. I like how we have studio/publishers like Blizzard/CDPR that are willing to try new things they haven't been too big on before.

Probably because:

1. Coming off of the back of The Witcher series, people expected more Third Person goodness.

2. This is CD Projekt Red's first FPS.

3. Short of being another game on the level of Portal or Bioshock, it will be "just another shooter".

If it is "just another shooter" then it would still have been "just another shooter" if it was a TPS so that avenue of complaining is moot.  If it has a focus on other things then it won't be "just another shooter" regardless of being FP or TP.

I'm simply thankful that it's not "just another third-person melee game".

Ha, it's funny because you say that like it's a less favorable outcome despite the outcry in this thread that you were just complaining about.

And yeah, if it was another TPS, it'd still be another shooter, first person or not. But given the pedigree, people wouldn't have been wrong to assume it'd be a game with all sorts of combat in a third person setting.

Instead, we'll get another first person shooter RPG with a joke melee option.

idk if people got so dumbed down by Fortnite that they require 3rd person for a shooter title. First person all the way, makes the game more attractive to me. This shit is once in a decade, can't skip the title, got to drop everything else (including Red Dead 2) for this one game.

I get that some people here prefer first person and are glad. but don't think for a second that there is something wrong with people who prefer third person. you guys are really sounding elitist here like another user has pointed out. I don't have a problem playing FPS although I prefer third person. No need to gloat and tell us why FPS generally better. It's like being a fan of a football team, you can tell someone how your team is more successful and all but it won't change how the other person feels about the team they support.

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but first-person is exclusionary. I get motion-sickness, as in physically sick, when I play first-person games. It's like the feeling you need to barf, not strong enough to actually throw up but strong enough that you experience extreme discomfort. So no, third-person is not a "preference" - it's the only possibility for me.

And for many others. It's always been said that if japanese games are rarely first-person games, it's because lots of japanese experience motion-sickness.

I wasn't exactly looking foward to this game so no big loss for me. Simply no reason to get interested now.

Snip, drunk posting, nvm
