I'm not the biggest Smash fan out there, but what does a game need to be considered brand new? There are new fighters, new stages, the HUD and stage selection got an overhaul, gameplay got tweaked, there are new mechanics and rebalances, the graphics have been improved... of course Smash Ultimate will have a lot of content we've seen in previews games - because Smash games have absolutely been choke-full of stuff since Brawl. This is definitely a brand new game, no question.

fighters and stages are all from the previous games from what i understand.

There is already a new character confirmed in Ridley (And im sure there will be more) and there are new stages aswell.

We have 3 new fighters so far (Daisy, Inkling and Ridley) and iirc at least 3 new stages (Shiekah Tower, Moray Towers and a New Donk City stage) if we don't count a new Battlefield and Final Destination

Not even suprised anymore. You guys love arguing huh

Bill Trinen among other Nintendo officials have ended this silly discussion, it's a new game. Since nobody here is on the Smash development team, I think it's safe that we take Nintendo's word for it.

Er yeah, we can see the poll and never said we weren't outweighed. Still that's a good amount of people who also aren't seeing a new game, not that I need that to reinforce my veiwpoint.

That's because there were also 26% saying it's a "compilation" or "something else", which has absolutely nothing to do with it being a new game or not. So there's roughly only 14% people saying it's a port, and that's including all the salty folks who are hating on this because it took centerstage in Nintendo's presentation at the cost of everything else.

Edit: of course, it also means 14% of the people here are wrong. There's no two ways about this. Smash Ultimate is a new game.

It has everything to do with it, they didn't vote new game. I voted something else as I don't see a new game, I don't see a port, and it's not just a compilation.

It's a scam like every fifa game each year lol. Minor updates and roster changes

but by definition a new game lol

Have you people never heard of sequels before?

I knew we had a lot of kids in the Nintendo fanbase, but this is ridiculous =D
