Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Still no Retro Studio games

Developement hell, guys. Nothing is going to come out of that studio until they scrap whatever it is holding them back.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Retro is MIA at this point. Wouldn't be surprised if they slowly dissolve as a company.

We seen some employees already leave.

Just to put things into perspective, this is the 5th E3 in a row where Retro is missing.

They became irrelevant the moment they decided to continue with the dk ip.

I remember how mad I would get at that guy with the Viking avatar every time he shat on Retro studios. Especially when he said Monolith Soft was better than them.

...but...Holy Shit....he was right this whole time

Yeah, this was a dissapointment.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Despite they said they will featuring 2018. games and that 2019. games will be featured later, I expected at least few bigger 2019. titles,
obvously, Retro game/games are not 2018. titles.

Neither is the new Fire Emblem...

No its not, but Fire Emblem was 2018. game and it was delayed to Spring 2019.

That Star Fox Grand Prix game is almost sure thing at this point, but it seems its 2019. game.

Their last full new game was Tropical Freeze in 2014, with a recent Switch port that shouldn't take too many resources to make.

At this point, someone from the press should really press Reggie or someone else from Nintendo to get an explanation on what the f*ck is going on with Retro. I mean, if they've turned Retro into another auxiliar studio that makes them impossible to work on new projects, they should just say it.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

They must be either working hard to support other titles or whatever they are showing to the bosses isn't making the grade. We all know how 'strict' Nintendo can be with Western developers working directly under them. No matter the case I hope they get the opportunity to do something on their own. Revamping older IPs is great but even Game Freak get to work on stuff outside of Pokémon.
