Forums - Gaming Discussion - Halo Infinite probably not coming to Xbox One generation consoles

A forensic look at the Halo Infinite trailer by Digital Foundry . What makes the Slipspace engine so special? Is it an actual generational leap and if so, can it possibly run on existing Xbox hardware?

I bet it will run on Xbox One X but with  1080p 30 FPS low graphic quality, but will not run on Xbox One and Xbox One S.

I think it will. Rumor is that MS is targeting a late 2019 release and it's been in development for almost 3 years already. I'm expecting late 2019 or early 2020.

Making a game exclusive to a "Branch" of console but not the base, or the extended base seems like a dangerous path to take.

you'd basically be inviting people to buy an xbox one X to play a new game, with a new console possibly coming 2 years later.

That's why it will not coming to Xbox One X as well, they will make for future Xbox next and it will take a lot of times, probably another 4 to 5 years from now.

Its possible, I see the X being the base low end model for next gen consoles, but that is complete speculations. It will push more X's and keeping the economy strong for there next major console release.

The Xbox One X is still fundamentally an Xbox One. There will be bottlenecks if 343 makes the X the base platform, particularly on the CPU.

Halo Infinite is Halo 6. 343i is dropping the numbered games.

It's possible, but it will piss of  the owner of original Xbox One and Xbox One S. They will split the base and getting another hate.

So that's mean there will be no more Halo mainline on current gen consoles if Digital Foundry correct ?

Makes no sense. So it’ll be in development for another 3+ years? No way.
