When you study economy you'll see how good of an outcome you have from high taxes on rich... I'll tell you the basic outcomes, higher prices (because they'll roll the increases to the product price),

Wouldn't that only matter if they are personally liable for corporate taxes such as with an S-corp? Most US companies are C-corps meaning the company and the employees are taxed separately.  How does raising the income taxes on employees lead to an increase price of goods and services?

Or did you mean increased corporate taxes do that?

When people say raise the tax on the rich, when you are talking personal tax on companies you are talking about CEO, owner, shareholders, etc. So when let's say you tax bill gates more for the money he makes in US, he can either make investments in other countries with lesser taxes, increase the price of the products in current market to keep the same return, or other measures that will in the end be worse for the poor.

This desire to tax people to transfer money is quite dangerous and toxic. Because usually everyone advocating for it is thinking it's other people richer than him that will pay for it.

Or it could be that China will pay labor a tiny fraction of the cost of US labor.  Taxation is a minor cost by comparison.

Still couple decades ago the labor/produced unit was still quite competitive in USA.

It is very sad to see, however, the only solution is getting money (legalized bribery) out of politics. Only then can a road be paved towards improving peoples lives instead of profiting off them.

Vote Progressive. The only vote that has getting big money out of politics on their agenda.

But there is no Progressive Party in the US.

Ever watch an American TV stream. I swear 60% of it is commercials about the most disgusting and slimy food I have ever seen, and most of the rest of it is about drugs; yeah, fucking pills.

I’d say relaxed American advertisement regulation has a lot to do with it combined with the fact that Americans are about the most easily brainwashed people in the world.

Everything else. The UN isn't really seen as an authority or of any real consequence to Americans. Most people don't even pay attention to politics in general.

Are you stating this as a positive or just a matter-of-fact? It's hard to tell.

The UN revealing the truth about how "bad off" US society is could contribute to the reason why people don't pay attention to it. Ignorance is bliss.

A bit of both. Revealing the truth? The US collects its own data objectively and any people who pay attention to statistics knows of the issues within the US. The UN's report is politically motivated and their opinion doesn't matter in the slightest.

The lowest 51% get all of that back. They still have to pay state taxes (sales tax, gas tax, etc), but no - they don't pay federal taxes. Feel free to investigate that.

They do not get it all back. You have no idea how taxes work and that frankly is quite sad.

He's absolutely right. Low income folks typically have all of their withheld federal taxes refunded each year. Obviously this doesn't exempt them from paying for social security or medicare, but poor people don't pay income tax the vast majority of the time. That's why Trump's tax cuts weren't very impactful for many.

Of course, if you're single and have no tax credits, then the line to pay tax is super low.

Problem with America is that you have two political parties that have monopolised power since the inception of the country. And while they bicker over trivial issues, the main problems are neglected which is why identity politics suits both parties very well. End of the day, they're still in power and in control of the establishment while everyone else is debating gender types.
